Hi ladies I had my first morning sickness last night. It was not fin at all. Strange thing was, I was worried about how healthy my pregnancy was without it and since it started I have felt quite rubbish.
Anyway, I had my 8 weeks scan on Monday, nurse was quite pleased with my baby's growth, strong heart beat felt and growing well. So I was quite excited to know that.
I have felt drained by this pregnancy. Flatulence that smells so bad, I hear flatulence is a sign of pregnancy and effect of taking progesterone. Maybe when I stop my cyclogest it might reduce hopefully as I hate the smell, since my nose is so sensitive due to the pregnancy hormones.
Has anyone else been having flatulence? Does anyone else have morning sickness starting at 8 weeks, isn't that strange.
Anyway I don't feel so well today, as I need to rehydrate. I am thinking of starting to exercise this weekend or next, I feel it might give me more energy but I am scared of anything going wrong. What does anyone know about exercise in pregnancy.
So many questions I know. But yeah, that is a peep into how worried I get as I want things to go well.
Lots of kisses to you lovely ladies and good luck
xx

Hi, I only had the 'queasies' from week 5 to week 8 and then everything kicked in big time! Heartburn, nausea, dizziness, fatigue from hell...lovely! I have had some gas too, but fortunately not too badly. For me the killer has been the heartburn. By last week it was so chronic I could not eat or drink anything without ending up in agony and finally got prescription medication to deal with it.
I am 12 + 2 and I am still getting nausea. My advice would be to nibble on crackers or rich tea biscuits when you start to feel the sickness come on. I never got 'morning' sickness, more 3.30pm sickness, as it can hit at anytime. Staying hydrated in very important for your overall health too. For the bloating and gas, you can try peppermint tea or Colpermin peppermint capsules...both are completely safe and will help settle your stomach. Probiotics such as those found in Yakult etc. could also help.
Oh thank you so much for this. I will try those out xxxx
My sickness started about week 7 and stayed til week 12. It drained me and I felt very crappy, I found toast and crackers helpful and keep drinking water even though it's hard. Personally I would leave exercise til after 12 weeks when hopefully the sickness has eased and you start to get some energy back. Everyone is different but listen to your body xxx
I'm almost 17 weeks and had queasiness in the few very early weeks and it started again at 14 weeks. It mostly wakes me up at night, early morning. No vomiting but just nauseous. Guess it can go up and down!
Hiya my morning sickness started at week 7 (I'm 9wks now) but it's not every day (but most days) and is usually in the afternoon/evening or even middle of the night. I swear by ginger...ginger tea, ginger beer, ginger biscuits or failing that sipping fizzy Lemonade....even none of those things helped the other night though. I kicked the dh into the spare room and slept with a sick bucket next to me...oh the glamour!! xxx
I had severe windypops which seems to have calmed down now. If you watch the sex in the city episodes where Miranda is pregnant you relate as you start to control the noise but not the smell!
In the first trimester I had no sickness, but certain smells got me. Overpowering cleaning smells like walking into wilko cleaning aisle was a no no, my husband being a bit sweaty after his commute to and from work made me feel sick (he was showering twice a day!), oh and lynx made me gag. In fact, if some bloke has been bathing in smellies it still gets me now. I just say as loudly as possible that my eyes might start bleeding from the smell of someone drenched in lynx and hope they go in a different direction to me!
Crazy sex drive first trimester followed by the opposite in the second trimester.
I've also developed allergies like hay fever symptoms. The pharmacist said again the hormones can make you allergic to things that never got you before.
I also have no filter or patience for idiots and just blurt out what I'm thinking which I have to keep apologising for! Going to blame the hormones for all of this!
Lol i also feel like i blurt out too so now I try to avoid some people so we maintain the peace hahahahah. I blurt out words and gas. Sex drive- yes but I feel like rubbish so I don't indulge it physically as I am thinking of protecting the baby- lol. So I get wet dreams when I sleep and it climaxes itself there lol. Vivid dreams as well some so strange. Some kind of weired taste could come to the mouth so I brush always. If you use me as detective I can smell from a distance any hidden smells- my sense of smell is very strong... Lol xxx
Everything you describe is pretty normal as you progress further in your pregnancy you won't care one bit about a fart etc! My sickness lasted 8 weeks and I used to carry bags with me while I was at work for emergencies. You get through it tho and then second trimester is brilliant. I found power walking to be the best excercise for me it made me feel energised and I didn't put for than 7lbs on until about 24+ weeks. You body is going to go through so many more changes it's pretty fascinating
Oh thanks for this. I will try power work today with my partner- looking forward to it. I am trying to avoid exercising until after my 12th week- what do you think? What do you think about yoga? xx
I've never done yoga my whole life but the Dr's generally say if you were doing it before conception, keep doing it. Some women run for weeks! I'd just say make sure your yoga instructor knows your pregnant as I would imagine certain poses may not be suitable. I've read about the benefits of yoga for you during labour too, breathing and relaxing etc so go for it x
