IVF Meds

Sorry in advance if this isn’t allowed.

I’ve tried researching this but can’t get a clear answer or recommendation. I’ve been given my proposed IVF meds and protocol but the medication via the clinic’s partner is pricey (about £1000 per cycle😱)

Has anyone else purchased their medication in the UK separate from the clinic, and can recommend a pharmacy or another place to acquire them please? Thanks in advance

Hi, medication definitely adds to the cost! They should be able to give you a private prescription so you can shop around. Asda is normally good price wise and I’m sure there are other sites others can recommend as well.

Thank you - yes it blew me away how costly they were! Thanks for the ASDA tip - the clinic did advise that I could take a private presentation and purchase my meds elsewhere 🙌🏾

I think Asda used to do it (and maybe still do) as part of their CSR agenda which is why they’re cheaper. Good luck!

Hi t_miller,

The main ones are Asda, Stork and fertility4u. All my fresh cycles were £1000-£1500 in meds, just a fair warning xx

My vote is ASDA. I’ve got the vast majority of my meds from there and for me, they were cheaper than Stork which my clinic used. Of course this will depend on what meds you were prescribed. I found ASDA very easy and accommodating to deal with x

Thank you - I think I’ll give Asda a try as it’s the clear favourite

I used pharmasure if that’s any help.

It is a lot unfurtunateu and I had to waste my first cycle as ended up doing with de. I'm in London and my clinic sent them to alis pharmacy but as people have said asda is good

Thank you and sorry to hear about the stopped cycle - it can really rack up! I’m going for a mild IVF approach and been advised that they can adjust meds if required during the cycle but not sure what that means for the cost 😧
