Hello. So our one and only frozen embryo didn’t work 😢 we found out a couple of weeks ago now but i am still really struggling. It was our only nhs funded round and I just don’t know where we go from here. I just feel like we are never going to afford to another go. We had our follow up appointment and I was all set on trying to find a cheaper clinic or even abroad but going back there made me realise I would love to stay, they are so lovely! If for some miracle we manage to win the lottery or something and we get to have another go they have recommended we do a karotype blood test to check our chromosomes (which I think actually my husband has had but just trying to chase up the results) and I mentioned about the sperm Comet test, just wondered if anyone has had these? As they are so expensive but I don’t want to do another round without any testing first?
The doctor can’t pinpoint exactly if it was the egg quality or sperm, but it obviously all went downhill as they were developing (I had 36 eggs collected, 23 fertilised and they started to drop off rapidly as the days went on and we only had 1 blast make it ok enough to freeze on day 6)
She also said about starting Metformin while we make a decision on what our plans are, as this apparently can help with egg quality. Other than that she said they wouldn’t change our protocol, I was on low dosage of gonal f anyway (125) she said maybe lower it to 100 to avoid ohss, but they wouldn’t do anything different which I was abit concerned about 🤔
Can anyone recommend anything else we could do regarding tests etc? Or is it worth getting a second opinion? I have been taking the Zita West Vitafem and just started VitalDHA, before our egg collection I was taking Ubiquinol for a few months, and don’t know whether to start that again? I read so many people that it has helped with egg quality, well clearly it didn’t with me 🤔 Husband was taking condensyl (which they have never heard of) but they said Wellman will be just fine 🤔 so should he just stick with these? He does have a low count/motility/morphology so surely something like condensyl would be better?
Sorry for the rambling, just after some advice
Thanks
