Hi all, I had my egg extraction on Wednesday which was very successful (17 eggs, 15 eligible for sperm injection, and 11 successfully fertilised). I’m due for implantation on Monday. However, I have been in a lot of pain since my extraction and I was wondering how much pain was too much?
I feel like I can’t take a deep breath without some effort, and that my tummy feels “full”, bloated and hard, though very tender when touched, and sore when “jiggled” in the car or when walking. When I change positions when I’m lying down it takes a few minutes for it to be not-sore.
This is my first cycle so I’m not sure if this is normal. I was told I was at risk of over response, and given I had a cyst and a fair amount of follicles drained (around 30), that I might be in pain. But I just don’t know if this is unusual, and if I should phone the hospital to let them know.

I'm not sure if this is normal or not as I haven't had my EC yet, but I would ring the clinic just to be on the safe side? It may be normal as it sounds like you had a lot of eggs collected, which I presume would make you feel tender. I hope the pain eases off for you soon x
Thanks for your reply. I don’t want to be a worry wart and phone for no reason. But might bite the bullet and phone today. If I have to put off my implant hen I suppose it would be best to know now

Honestly they won't think anything of you ringing, they answer lots of womens questions constantly. They can offer you advice and make recommendations if your uncomfortable x
Spoke to a nurse and she said because I had such a high level of response that this might last a couple of weeks, but provided it didn’t get worse or develop vomiting/diarrhoea then it’s nothing to worry about. Still glad I phoned just to make sure though
I would give your clinic a phone and let them know. I got ohss after my egg retrieval and it sounds similar to how I was feeling and gradually got worse so best to let them know so they are aware and can keep an eye on you xxx
