Hi ladies

So yesterday my AMH results came back as high (33.5).

Today they have written to me and said that they would recommend doing a freeze all cycle as their research shows that fresh cycles with high AMH aren’t very successful. It seems a bit strange given that we haven’t even tried IVF yet and we’re to go straight to freezing them all.

This will obviously be more expensive as we have to do IVF and FET then but that wouldn’t matter if it was successful.

Anyone else had this advice?

I'm on freeze all due to PCOS and high AMH at 130. We did short protocol on a low dose but still ended up over stimulating.

I did have a really good response (19 eggs) but am suffering after retrieval yesterday. Abdominal pain, swelling, fatigue, generally I think I'll be glad to have a break and recover before FET.

The clinic must have good reasons for recommending freezing all, I'm sure they will explain if you ask. Best of luck to you xx

Thanks you for the advice. It does sound like a good plan to freeze all, I don’t have PCOS so maybe they are being cautious.

I had a freeze all cycle and the first FET was included in the price we paid for IVF as we hadn't had a fresh transfer. Double check your first transfer isn't included. FET medication wasn't included (progynova and utrogestan) but they're not that expensive really and you'd be taking them after transfer anyway, so it was really only a few days extra of those that we ended up paying that was more than a fresh transfer would have been.

OHSS is really sh*tty, and I guess the clinic recommend freeze all to help avoid that. I know after EC I felt rotten and was glad to have time to be back to 100% to welcome my little embies properly.

Thank you so much for the advice. You’re right, avoiding OHSS is the important thing, I guess I just never thought we’d do a freeze all...but then I never thought I’d be doing IVF so hey ho. Hope you are well x
