My AMH has come back as 3.9 I've been told this is very low for my age I'm 40 and that I will need high doses of IVF meds if we decide to continue with IVF. I'm in such a state about it as was finally feeling like we where getting somewhere and now not sure what to do, been TTC for 3yrs.

Don’t despair, mine is only 2.7 (age 34) and I have had 5 blasts out of my last 10 eggs!

I found that mild ivf suited me better than high dose, and if you’re paying it makes the rounds much cheaper. Xx

Thank you for your reply its given me some hope, I know IVF is our chance of having a baby and if we don't try we will never know it's just such a mine field Xx

I have a low AMH for my age of 32 of 6.1 and had high dosages of meds when I went through IVF first round and I got pregnant and I now have a 10 week old baby boy xxx

Thank you for your reply I just hope we are as lucky as having to go private and can only afford 2 rounds of IVF Xx

Aww please don't feel down about this, mine is 3.57 or 3.75 (mind has gone blank) and I am 34. I was on the highest dose of Menopur on short protocol and I responded well to meds, I didn't get a bfp this time but hoping I do in the future.

You have every chance xxx

It usually does mean that you may be on a higher dose of meds but it also depends what protocol your clinic decide to go with, there are a few different options out there. Try not to worry too much, the clinic will try to do what is best to get decent results for you!xx

My AMH was 4.7 last year just before I turned 30. I had 9 eggs collected which resulted in 4 blastocysts, one of which is now my almost 16 week old daughter. It is such a worry when you are told your AMH is low and I spent hours searching online for positive stories, so just wanted to share mine and let you know there is hope. Xx

I've just had my result, I'm 40 (41 in Jan next year) my AMH is 4. I am devastated :( Looks like we will be starting IVf in Jan.

Hi there! So I've had AMH results in this order, 3.0, 2.3, 7.5 and 6.2 and all these were in the space of 8 months. I got 8 eggs at collection after my reading at 2.3, 7 fertilised normally (not icsi) and I had 3 make it to day 5 and a top grade blastocyst transferred - no bfp. After my result of 6.2 I only had 1 egg retrieved and was on highest dose for stimulation, that 1 egg fertilised with icsi and transferred on day 3 - no bfp. Hoping to start cycle 3 in a couple of weeks 🤞🏼you may have low AMH for your age but you never know what you're going to get and how the meds will work with your body. Wishing you lots of luck xx

I would just do it with the high doses of meds.
