Another OHSS question! Sorry!

I'm getting myself into a right state about this as I am so scared of getting OHSS during my first IVF treatment.

My AMH level is 6,08 ng/ml (or 43,41 pmol/L).

Have any of you ever developed OHSS with similar AMH levels? Moderate? Severe...?

What were your AMH levels when you got OHSS?

I'm trying to be excited about this first cycle but I can't stop stressing out about this and worried it will affect my frame of mind during treatment, which we all know is very important!

Thanks for your help x

Hi, please don’t stress about your AMH levels! Mine are 71 so are extremely high and I’m currently going through my first time of ICSI and I’ve experienced no problems or any sign of OHSS! I’m due to go in for my egg transfer tomorrow xxx

Ah good luck for the transfer tomorrow! How are you feeling about it?

Have you been on the short or long protocol? x

I’m actually not sure what protocol I’ve been on but I’m assuming it’s long as I’ve been on meds 8 days then had egg collection on Monday and egg transfer tomorrow.

Ive been really unwell on meds but I’m feeling ok actually, better than I thought . I’m glad they didn’t go the egg transfer on Thursday and are doing it tomorrow as it means they are doing really well so fingers crossed ! Fingers crossed for you xx

Yes you have been on the long protocol. Sorry to hear you've been feeling unwell on the meds but at least all is in order for the transfer tomorrow! Wishing you the best of luck for it xx

That sounds like short protocol to me- meds on long protocol are more like 20 days as you down regulate first.

Oh yes I read too quickly - I thought she meant she had to down reg for 8 days first before the stims.

What dose of meds have you been on? I have pcos and overstimulated last time so I’m just thinking ahead to my next round...? Xx

I have been on 150 menopur for 5 days then put up to 225 for 3 days, cetrotide the whole amount in the packet for 3 days ( so from day 5 on menopur when everything was looking as it should on Scan and then the trigger shot ovritrelle 250. I’ve been using the pessaries cyclogest or something like that since egg collection on Monday xx

Please try not to worry. The reason why you have so many scans is to make sure you don't get it. Also, as they have upped tour dose I would say that is more to give the little follicles a bit of a boost before they go for egg collection.

Have they given you any indication of the number of follicles you do have and how many are responding / growing on each side?

Xxx

Hi Camillage, thanks lovely - I actually haven't started the injections yet, I'm expecting AF within the next week so will start then and just worrying before as usual! I'll be on Gonal F 150 - not sure if that's a high dose or not!x

Ah ok. I think I had double that. But as others have said, just make sure you let them know if you have any pain at all.

I am sure it will be fine. Just try to relax and focus on growing lovely follicles xx

Morning. I had high levels and I did end up getting ohss on my first ivf round. However as long as you tell your nurses how your feeling if you have any pain what so ever they will check you over. The treatment I got was another course of injections and told to drink 3L of water a day.

It didn't effect the treatment at all getting it and I'm now nearly 8 weeks pregnant.

So don't worry and good luck with your first round xxx

Ah congrats on your pregnancy that's amazing! Were you able to do a fresh transfer with your ohss? Good to know about the water drinking - I will try and do the same xx

Yeah we did a fresh transfer. The OHSS didn't really materialise until after the transfer. But I could tell something wasn't right as I was still in pain so got in touch with the hospital right away.

Hi, sound like a short protocol. I haven’t suffered with OHSS but my clinic adviced me to drink 2L of water a day.

in reply to270287

Will definitely be doing the water drinking - it's the second time i'm hearing this advice in this thread so must work well! 🤞
