Anyone not ovulate on Letrozole?

Its my first month taking Letrozole, i’m on day 16 and still no positive ovulation test.

I have unexplained infertility, normally ovulate on my own every month between day 16-19.

Has anyone taken this and not ovulated?

First off, I’m sorry your going through this, I can definitely understand how frustrating it is. I took letrozole for 6 months (increasing the dose each time to 12.5mg a day) unfortunately I never ovulated on it. I had my progesterone measured on day 21 to confirm this. Are you getting this done?

I have PCOS and basically without the pill or another hormone I rarely have a period. With letrozole I had a period each month, unfortunately the cycles were always anovulatory. I’ve got my IVF scheduling appointment on Thursday.

Anyway, please don’t get despondent, you may have have ovulated, and your dose can always be increased if you haven’t. Definitely get a day 21 progesterone test as that is the only real test for ovulation. Sending you positive thoughts! Xx

No, the consultant hasnt arranged any blood tests/ scans, anything to monitor me while i’m on it. Just gave it me as a ‘you have to try this before we proceed to ivf’. I’ll try & call them tomorrow to see what they say.

Yeah definitely give them a call. My doctor referred me for IVF whilst I was taking the letrozole so I wouldn’t be ‘wasting time’. I know the rules are different in every clinic and CCG (I’m in Scotland). But you could ask that too??

I did, they couldnt do the 2 at the same time unfortunately xx
