Only 3 eggs from egg collection - so disappointed 😢

Hey everyone, thanks so much for the support yesterday. Unfortunately one of my fears has come true. I've just been discharged from hospital where I had egg collection, my husband is on his way back from the clinic where he had to give his samples and drop my egg collection. Apparently they only got 3 eggs from 10 follicles. I'm so so disappointed.

What even are the chances of all three fertilising and and becoming some decent embryos? I know it only takes one good egg but really, what are the chances of that when I've had severe endometriosis?

And I don't think they will be doing transfer this week as there aren't enough potential embryos to just pop one in, they will want to do surgery to fix/remove my tube before they put anything back in if there is anything to put in. This may take months more. Or I might have nothing tomorrow! Trying so hard not to to snowball right now. 😞

Don't be disheartened. I only had 4 eggs. 3 fertilised, one stopped developing and we ended up with 2 blastocysts. I got pregnant after the second transfer and my baby is a year old now! It only takes one good embryo!!

Best of luck.

Gosh that was such luck! How wonderful for you, I can imagine how stressful that experience must have been. Thank you for sharing your experience - I really need these positive and hopeful vibes ❤️ for now I'm trying to hold onto my prayers X X x

I’m sorry to hear you didnt get the results you wanted..it does only take one though so keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞 also, if you have a frozen transfer, they do tend to have higher success rates with these x

Thank you so much, I'm really praying for one good egg to do its thing and stay strong. That's good to hear about the success rates - I guess I'll just be bummed to have to wait even longer for surgery again - I've had two surgeries already in the lead up to this! Thank you for your kind words ❤️

Hi Fatimah. Oh dear! I can fully understand how disappointed you must be feeling, so fingers crossed that all three eggs fertilise and produce three decent embryos. A nuisance you have to have your Fallopian tube sorted out first, but best to get well prepared before embryo transfer. Just wanted to wish you both well with your results and that you get to embryo transfer with a good result. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you Diane. I really am going to be praying so much. Yes, it would be good to have everything prepared for a transfer, I'm just dreading the surgery and waiting time. I've had surgery last year and the year before for my stage 4 endo, which has been quite traumatic, and I just can't bear the thought of going through surgery AGAIN. And it took me a year to finally get surgery dates for each of those surgeries. The long road just seems to keep getting longer. Just going to keep praying really hard for now. Thanks for your kind words ❤️

Hi Fatimah. The longest roads can lead to the best destinations. Let's hope this will be your time. Thinking of you. Diane

Hello! Sorry to hear that, but don't get upset before time! There are good chances, believe me! A friend of mine had only four eggs and was really worried about the quality and amount of future embryos. Eventually, she got 3 good embryos, two of which was transferred and one was frozen. Now she is pregnant with twins:)).

So don't give up! Miracles happen!

That's so lovely to hear, very happy for your friend! I really am just going to be praying for a miracle. At the end of the day, these success stories are all miracles aren't they? Little fighters pulling through when all the odds seemed against them. Thanks so much for sharing ❤️

We are all fighters here! Without our desire to be happy and inner strength we won't be able to achieve any results. If bad things happen, call them not "failures" or "problems", but "experience". It helps, really! We are experienced and strong and mustn't give up for our families, husbands, wives, relatives and, of course, our future children! So, let's help each other mentally and go straight forward!

I have severe endo which left me with only one ovary. I had 5 follicles and 3 mature eggs. All went on to blast stage.

That is SO reassuring to hear! I pretty much only have activity in one ovary, so my situation seems very similar to yours. I really hope mine all fertilise at the very least. Thanks so much for sharing ❤️ it's going to be a long 24 hours waiting for the call X X X
