Late period after egg collection

Hiya,

I had an egg collection at the end of July and no embryo transfer (we had the embryos PGTA tested, so haven't transferred one yet).

I had a bleed in August around the time my period was due, but this month there's no sign of my period arriving (I'm almost a week late).

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it common for your period to be disrupted after IVF/ egg collection?

I have had one round before, but had embryos transferred and bfp (although all resulted in MC) so I'm not sure what to expect this time

Hi Cahoots, I had this too. Had our 2nd egg collection in May then a horrific bleed 10 days later, then it was a 33 day cycle (I’m normally 27 days). I’ve decided to take min 90 days off before launching into round 3 and things have settled, hope all does for you too. Our bodies have been through a lot

Treatment can cause your cycle be turned upside down - the effects of the extra hormones and the stress of the whole process May take time for your cycle to return to whatever is normal for you If still concerned might be an idea to call your clinic for advice

Hiya!

Iv done egg collection twice and both times my period was delayed.

First time by over 10days, 2nd time not as long.

I really think this is something they should tell you, is a strong possibility. No one even mentioned that too me.

- it’s then you realise, they really don’t know the feeling of having a late period, when you’re desperately trying to convince!

I also missed a period after taking an injection to get ready for a transfer that got cancelled. So it can certainly mess this with.

I had this after my first collection and a failed transfer (was 10 days late). Had my second egg collection end of July, freeze all cycle so no transfer either and am currently also a week late! I think it’s completely normal 🥰

My period is here now... back with a vengence! Kinda wish I hadn't wished it to come! 😂
