Egg Collection complete

Back from the clinic following egg Collection. They retrieved 9 eggs which I am happy with. Now for the nervous wait for our update tomorrow, our clinic only provides an update on day 1. It also only does day 5 blastocyst as it doesn’t rate the chances of a 3 day transfer highly enough to perform them. Is this how most clinics work?

Congratulations, I had mine today and got 8 eggs... hope that's going to be enough!

They are calling us tomorrow morning to let us know what is happening but we have been told it could be day 2, 3 or 5 depending on how many survive and how good they are. Really hoping they go the distance, this week is going to go by very slowly!

Keep me posted with how you are getting on xx

Hiya, well done - 9 is great! Hope you’re feeling ok and getting lots of rest.

We had our second call today, day 3, out of our 5 that fertilised 3 are at 6-8 cells today as expected, the other 2 are slightly behind. The embryologist wasn’t happy selecting one for transfer today so wants to go to day 5. We always got the impression day 5 was preferred for transfer.

Wishing you lots of luck for the call tomorrow xx

Congratulations for getting this far😀🤞

My NHS clinic provides updates on day 1 and 3 and they also now do day 5 transfers only following the latest evidence based research.

But I know this differs across the country. Good luck and keep us updated xx

I was hoping for more than a day 1 update, I’m not sure if not knowing increases the anxiety and stress or reduces it xx

Thanks for the support everyone. I’m feeling sore, bloated and sleepy. Not looking forward to starting the pessaries soon.

I think the next 5 days will be the most anxious ever. On the plus side if we make it to transfer our clinic tests on day 16 with today being day 1 😀

Hi we had our retrieval in September. They called me to say after to confirm how many had fertilised and then rang me 5 days later to confirm how many had developed and confirmed how many would be frozen as I was high risk of OHSS so had to wait for a fresh cycle for the FET which we had last week! It’s nerve wracking not knowing but the 5 days seemed to come round so quickly for us! Good luck 🤞🏻 xxx
