I was lucky enough to fall pregnant from using clomid and now have a beautiful 8 month baby girl.
I wasn’t ovulating naturally and was classed as unexplained so I started on 50mg for 2 months then increase to 100mg for 4 months and had just been given permission to increase to 150mg when I conceived. Unfortunately I didn’t ovulate at all until that very last cycle but I know people who have on the 2nd/3rd round. Great that you are being scanned though as I never was and hopefully that will allow you to increase dosage sooner if you aren’t responding.
In terms of when you ovulate this can vary so much but I used this site to get a rough guide babymed.com/tools/clomid-ov...
Good luck on your journey and stay positive, it can happen!
Congratulations on your baby girl that really is wonderful to hear and to hear a success story.
Yes I've been told that I will be scanned and monitored this time as it's my first timetaking it and they just want to monitor my progress and how my body responds. I believe if I take it another round they may not scan me. Also I have to pay for all of the scans and tracking so I understand that just checking me once or twice on my first round is ideal.
Metformin depletes vitamin b12 which causes miscarriages & infertility unbeknown to most Drs including IVF .Ask for active b12 as Serum is inaccurate ,folate ,iron, ferritin, vit D ,rbc magnesium levels.I teach fertility awareness had a client trying to achieve 4 yrs .She was low in vit b12 supplemented & conceived in 4 mths.A male sperm count can rise from 40 million to 100 million with sublingual vit b12 suppliments.
Oh wow I had no idea about that and that metaformin causes this deficiency.
I don't feel the specialists offer enough advice in the hospitals. They rush you through the apointment and don't really advise on what else you need or might be lacking.
I wonder if I am deficient in these vitamins etc and if I should be requesting any tests to check?
Or if I should be just going ahead and getting extra vitamins...
That's great to hear the success story. Thank you again for your advice xx
I have listed the vitamin tests above in my post.Drs will do serum B12 but a waste of time as it is inaccurate below 500 needs b12 suppliments now.Check this website b12awareness.org for cases of misdiagnosis & further info that you can download & educate your Dr.
Ah thank you. Apologies I misread the initial message and thought I need to take all of those as supplements. I missed the levels part. I will request this from my doctor.
I went for my 2nd scan for follicular tracking and I'm 14 days in and still no action. They've asked me to go in for another scan next week to see if any dominant follicles are around.
