We have been for our viability scan today at the IVF clinic. I have had a lot of scans over the last month as I have had moderate OHSS and had a week stay in our local hospital with it, so we already knew the viability but the clinic confirmed it today.
Anywho, I'm waffling on. I am 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant, can't actually believe it yet and am not really having any symptoms except nauseousness, which I had terribly whilst in hospital. The IVF doctor today told me to stop the Cyclogest progesterone bum tablets. I am just wondering when everyone else stopped their progesterone?
Thanks for reading, much love to all.

I stopped mine at 12 weeks but was one of the last in the clinic to do so. Research has shown that placenta takes over from about 7 weeks so the new protocol was for people to stop at 7 weeks. Congratulations- hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy xxx
Congrats! I was told to take mine up until 12 weeks. Stopped cold turkey after that! Kept them the rear end as well throughout. Wishing you all the best! Xx
I was told I could stop them too at our 7 week scan, I was too scared too so they said I could carry on until I had run out! I did have lots spare so I carried on till about 11 weeks xx
Congrats on the pregnancy and hope you are feeling better after the OHSS!
My clinic wanted me to stop as soon as I got a BFP. I stressed this made me feel anxious especially since I was doing them and progesterone injections. They gave me enough for another 4 weeks but said there was no actual benefit of taking them 🤷🏼♀️.
I think I stopped between 7 and 8 weeks mainly because I kept forgetting to use them or was out at the times I should have been using them x
Congratulations on your BFP. Hopefully your OHSS has settled down now! For a fresh cycle you can stop progesterone earlier than you can on a frozen cycle. My clinic stops progesterone after the viability scan on a fresh round, but did say to me that in theory you could stop after your BFP. For a frozen round they keep you on it until 12 weeks. The reason for the difference is that with a fresh round the EC triggers your body to start producing it’s own progesterone. With a frozen round (assuming you down reg as part of it) there is no trigger for your body to start producing it, so they keep you on it until they are sure the placenta has taken over its production.
I stopped at 11 weeks, should have gone to 12 but they were making me constipated and started to irritate my vagina too as I was told it was better to take them that way. X
My clinic told me the exact same as you at 7w5d but I was so anxious and nervous I called them 3 days later and the consultant wrote me another prescription which I took only 1 a day from 9weeks until my last one yesterday at 13w4d.
It’s scary to come off them but the clinic were reassuring me that the placenta takes over. If you’re very anxious just ask for enough to see you through to the 12 weeks I don’t see any harm in that.
