Has anyone else felt awful for days after EC? I had mine on Wednesday and I’m still bloated, shattered and in pain. Just went to the supermarket and thought I was going to keel over! I had expected to be back at work by Friday but at this rate I’m concerned about getting myself to the hospital for ET on Monday 😳. Is it normal to feel so sh*te?

Hi, I also had EC on Wednesday, I’m really tired and bloated but the pain hasn’t been too bad, have you called your clinic to see if they can give any advice?
I haven’t called them ☹️ I was going to yesterday but started to feel a bit better as the day went on. I felt ok this morning then when I went out I started to feel crap again. I’m wondering if the pessaries are making me tired and I just need to rest up for a bit. 🤞🏼
Make sure your drinking lots of water, I didn’t drink as much this morning and really noticed the difference!
After reading all the replies I’ve come to the conclusion I’m not drinking enough water. So trying to rectify that now!
I’ve been going to the loo quite a lot with all the water! I’m having a freeze all cycle due to OHSS, so I don’t have to worry about transfer day like you.
Good luck when you get to transfer day!
And to you for Monday! We will be waiting till April, which is a bit disappointing but I know it’s for the best.
I had initially been told I might have to wait too, because at my last scan they said my lining wasn’t thick enough. But they were happy with it at EC so gave me the go ahead. When I was told I might have to wait I was fine with it but now I’m geared up to go on Monday and patience isn’t my strong point 😂 hoping the next few weeks go by quickly for you x
How many follicles and eggs did you have?
Make sure you are drinking lots of water and are your liquid outputs equivalent to the amounts you are drinking?
If you feel that bad, I would call the clinic on their out of hours number...it might be OHSS..
I had 13 follicles collected, 11 of which contained eggs. I should probably be drinking more water if I’m honest, I’ll up my intake and see if that helps. If it gets any worse I think I’ll have to give them a call, the nurse said I can phone the on-call gynaecologist if the clinic is shut. Thanks for you reply!
Being bloated and uncomfortable is normal but I’m not sure you should be in so much pain.. Keep drinking lots of water and take paracetamol, use a hot water bottle. Your clinic won’t let you go ahead Monday if you’re not well enough but I’m sure they’ll decide then. Good luck xx
Oh no poor you! I had terrible bloating after mine and developed moderate ohss. Did the hospital mention this to you? I had to have medication to reduce the fluid around my ovaries which worked over the course of a few days. Only thing was, I had to wait and have my eggs frozen instead..but it all worked out for the best in the end.
as said before, lots of water. I think your allowed a hot water bottle if you wrap it in a towel (but check first)
I hope your feeling better soon x
Thanks 😊. I don’t think the hospital mentioned OHSS but I’ll need to check with my OH as I was a bit woozy after EC. I took some painkillers at 8 this morning but none since because I want to monitor it for a bit. I’m upping my fluid intake so I’ll see if that helps. I’ll be gutted if we don’t get to transfer on Monday ☹️
It took me about a week to recover from egg collection. Hope you feel better soon thou xx
Hey hun day 3 after egg collection I was still in alot of pain in fact more pain then the day before and was starting to worry about OHSS. I just took it easy drank plenty of water kept on the paracetamol and yeah just netflixed all day. By day 4 I was starting to feel better and by transfer day 5 I was much better again. So fingers crossed same for you just keep that water intake up. But do let your clinic know how you are going. Hope you feel better soon xxx
I struggled after mine. No OHSS but I had pains and was sick. My advice is listen to your body and rest. I didn’t and I’m sure that’s why I got a BFN that cycle x
Sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for you for next time. It’s so hard to know what to do for the best as everyone’s experiences are different. Luckily my work have been really good and I’ve been able to take some time off. I don’t know what I would have done if I’d had to go in!
Sending hugs and positive vibes for your next step xxx
Please let your clinic know in case you have ohss x
