Anyone else felt horrible on prognyova? I feel awful! 🤢 I'm only on day 3, besides the constant throbbing headache, I am sick to my stomach and can barely eat (its 7pm and I've managed a banana today..about to try and eat dinner) and I just feel reeeeeallly low, and anxious. Probably doesnt help that I weaned completely off of my anti depressant 2 weeks ago but I've been feeling fine till I started these. Of course I been googling and I've heard the side effects can settle after a few days....please tell me this is the case?? Or is there anything I can take as a replacement?? I cannot imagine being on this for weeks or months feeling like this. Give me the stim meds and needles any day over this! 🤢🤮😥 xxx

I felt a bit crap on this but luckily it did settle after a few days. Hopefully it will for you too xx
Hmm ok yeah cause I haven't really heard many ladies say it's that bad, yeah I think I might email my nurse cause this is just awful. But hey if it works I'd do it 10 times over xxx
Definitely contact them. Progynova isn't the only one you can take and it may be that your body is struggling with it. It does happen to some people (rarely) but they may be able to move you to a different drug. Xx
Ok thanks I sent her an email its 10pm in nz or i would have just called. Ugh i have to take 1 more before bed i will take it just before I fall asleep 🤢 thanks for the advice I'm glad I emailed the clinic now.
I hope you are keeping well and pregnancy is going smoothly 🤗😘💕 xxx
Ok so it's not just me. Oh I dont start those till like the 26th Feb 😫 yeah Im fine on progesterone pessaries besides wanting to eat the contents of the fridge and the massive boobs! Lol. Guess I just have to soldier on 🤮🙃 xxx
I felt awful on prognyova with migraines and extreme tiredness but it did pass eventually once I started the pessaries! fingers crossed it'll get better for you soon xx
Yes I'm sure I just have a constant migraine! Hmm wonder if it is and that's what's giving me the nausea? I dont know I just feel so yuck 🤮 I've emailed the clinic thought I should let them know. Thank you xxx
I had really bad symptoms too, for 2+ weeks, nausea and headaches. I am on 1 x 4 a day. It’s eased off now but I have pregnancy nausea, so just moved from one to the next. Unfortunately all Oestrodial meds will do this. Just stick with it, it’s all worth it in the end 😉
Ok I'm just gonna push through and try and deal with it! I've heard back from my clinic and my nurse said yes this can be quite common for some women she said try and push through if I can which I will it should get slightly better at some point. Fingers crossed it's all worth it 🤞🤞🤞. Congrats on your pregnancy 💕xxx
Hi, I felt horrendous on prognova but What you describe sounds more like anti depressant discontinuation syndrome. Or actually maybe a combination of the 2. I too weaned off anti depressants and felt fine for 2 weeks and then had a major crash. It’s like I got my origional condition (the one I took the tablets for in the first place) back but times 1000. I wish I’d gone back on my anti depressants straight away but I tried to “tough it out” and ended up ill for months. When I did finally take the meds again, they took ages to work. Not trying to scare you at all but I’d hate for anyone to end up as ill as I did. Can you go back on a small dose of the AD? I think it’s way too much pressure to come off AD’s and do IVF. On the prognova itself I felt waves of anxiety and very highly strung. I felt calmer the minute I stopped taking it. Hope this helps. I know how much the desire to be med free when trying for pregnancy can grab you but your mental well-being is also so important and loads of women have babies on meds to no ill effect.
You know after I wrote this post last night I was starting to think the same...it could be a mixture of both! And when I looked online the drug I came off of..has really terrible withdrawal and you have to wean reallllly slowly which I dont think my doctor did. Even though she she knows I've come off other anti depressants before and got really Ill for a few weeks. But I have started a different anti depressant which is hopefully safer in pregnancy and I'm on a very low dose. But I have just heard back from my clinic and she said some women do feel really yuck like I do, they can cancel cycle which they prefer not to do (which I'm not going to jm gonna push through) and to take panel for my headaches and can get anti nausea meds that are safe in pregnancy. But she said these awful symptoms should ease but when we dont know every women is different. So I'm going to push through and soldier on and hope that I feel better soon. Hopefully it will all be worth it! 🤞🤞🤞 xxx
Oh let’s hope! I do think some GP’s go far too quickly with the tiltering down of AD’s. One told me I could stop mine cold turkey. Every other health professional was like “DO NOT DO THAT” and as it was after months of reducing very very gradually, I still had a terrible withdrawal reaction. I think it’s good though you’re on a low dose of AD better for pregnancy so let’s hope that’s kicked in. I did find with the prognova that the bad feelings came and went I.e I didn’t feel awful 100% of the time. Best of luck and at least the prognova stops soon xxx
Aww... sorry to hear that you are feeling so rubbish. I’ve been having lots of headaches and tummy aches, but no feelings of sickness on the same meds 💕 xx
Sorry your feeling like crap too! I'm just gonna push through and hope it gets a bit better...fingers crossed it's all worth it for both of us! 🤞🤞🤞 xxx
