After being diagnosed with low AMH over two years ago, we started thinking about what to do. Were we going for IVF after IVF with huge odds of failure, were we going to do DE? We decided that we were going to Spain to do donor eggs IVF.
In fact, we have a flight booked on Friday. We are going to Spain, but just for the weekend, just to visit museums and friends. After feeling sick for more than a week and craving crips at breakfast, lunch and dinner (which was easy to achieve while on holidays. This morning, for peace of mind, I decided to do a test, the result was a 3+weeks BFP!
I'm still in disbelief and being extra cautious. Everything can happen... but I'm moderately happy.
Has anyone been trough this? What were your thoughts? And next steps?

This is amazing news huge congratulations what a lovely happy surprise 😍. Low amh doesn’t mean you can’t have a successful pregnancy- I have low amh & had my daughter last June! All the best with your pregnancy hope all goes smoothly xxx

Thank you!!🥰 I dont think I'll get a choice. I would have tried for a natural delivery due to the recovery etc however these 2 little monsters have their own ideas....they are lying transverse across my tummy and havent moved so unless they do it's a section. Will no doubt find out at our next scan!xx
Ah don’t worry I hear elective sections are quite pleasant in the sense that the birthing experience is ‘drama free’ (or less drama as possible)... in fact I’m thinking of having one myself 😂if I get that far that is 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Xxx
Well it had crossed my mind but I thought with twins i would need to back on my feet asap! I'm a bit scared of both options to be fair so just not thinking about it!🤣🙈 Will deal with that when I have to!!

I know, it’s a bit scary overall isn’t it 😂😂😂🙈🙈🙈aww you think? I really need to get to a point where I can breathe a bit, I’m still quite worried about every little twinge/cramping I get 🙈I want to buy a pregnancy pillow but I keep postponing in fear of jinxing it 🙈
The fear doesn't really go away but after my 20wk scan and knowing all was ok I think I did breathe a bit more. We didn't start buying until around 24wks, somehow that seemed an acceptable compromise and my mum was telling me I'd better get a move on!🤣 I still worry daily but it is different to that anxiety in the early days.xxx
My plannned section was so chilled and I was home after one night and recovery was fine. Having had a TAC, I was expecting the pain to be the same or worse but it was sooo much easier and less painful x
I had it on the nhs. It’s a stitch put in through the abdomen - my cervix was almost completely removed during surgery to remove abnormal cells so I had this stitch to be able to carry a pregnancy to the end x
Sorry to jump into your conversation Scarlett13 but I saw your comment about a TAC and I wanted to ask you about it if you don’t mind?
I also have a TAC. Can I ask does your consultant like to put a stitch at the bottom of your cervix once you get pregnant in addition to the TAC? Mine was put in by Nick Wales at Chelsea and Westminster a few years back and this is his policy. Clearly he takes a very cautious belt and braces approach!
I’m just worried that if I get pregnant (current in 2ww 🤞🏻) I’d need to travel into London to have the stitch and the way things are I’d rather not travel on public transport right now.
Nick wales did mine too and yes I had the occlusion stitch but all before covid. Nick is the only one that does the occlusion. To be honest if I get pregnant again I’m going to not have the occlusion again as it involves staying over night in London, the surgery was more involved than I thought it would be, and my csection consultant had a tough job removing the stitch before taking the baby out but tried again after the birth and managed it. I guess I’m 50/50 about it. So if you don’t feel comfortable about London and covid etc if you do get pregnant then don’t feel you have to have it done. Others say it’s a risk in itself having it done. The TAC is amazing though! No issues with my pregnancy and planned section at 38 weeks. Good luck! I had the TAC placed before i started ivf and then 3 rounds and 8 transfers later I finally got to use it! Hoping this is your turn xxx
Thank you so much for your reply. I had a daughter a couple of years ago and at that time I had the occlusion stitch because obviously no COVID and I would do anything Nick Wales wanted as I felt he and the TAC are amazing!!
But now it’s different and I think the risks outweigh the benefits. I was never really sure what the occlusion stitch did and most other TAC surgeons don’t do them.
I had my c section and maternity care all under Chelsea and Westminster as at that time I worked full time in London so it was convenient and I felt safer. But now I work part time and been working from home since COVID it’s just too much stress.
But anyway I’m probably getting ahead of myself as this second baby seems impossible to achieve- 7th transfer hoping it’s 7th time lucky !!

Well I'm not thinking about it too much, too scary! It's good to know that you found it ok. I just want to be back on my feet asap and I live in a village so the no driving is not great! However, I'm sure we'll manage whatever happens....if I can do multiple IVF then surely I can hack birth!😳xxx

That’s amazing, congratulations to you! Call your gp and book your first appointment. They will give you a prescription for folic acid and vitamin D, they will tell you to book your midwife appointment with the hospital you want to give birth in. Yes, it’s a lot already! I hope all goes well for you. Enjoy!
