Carbon Monoxide Breath Test

Hi everyone

I was just wondering if anyone knows where in London I could get this test done.

My hospital are trying to cancel my 3rd cycle of NHS due to an admin error on my discharge form following my d&c in May where someone put down smoker by mistake. I have shown them another form 3 days earlier that says non smoker but they are refusing to accept it's a mistake.

They told me to contact my GP and Boots Pharmacies to get test done, but they don't do it and the hospital are not advising me or my doctor further on where I can get it done.

Any help or advice would be great, thank you xxx

P.S - I never posted before on here, just wanted to say I think you are all amazing and so strong. You all inspire me to keep going xxx

Hi Rowly88. Apart from speaking to someone at the obstetrics department of your hospital, where a midwife could check for you, maybe buying an online tester may do. I'm surprised they just didn't send you to the maternity wing and get tested. Hope you're soon sorted. The only other way would be to get whoever discharged you following your D & C should write to admit the error. Diane

Thank you Diane.

I will give that ago fingers crossed. I don't know they just seem to be making it difficult for me which is upsetting, how can they ask me to do a test but not offer to help get it arranged.

I already asked about that and they said they would not accept an amended discharge form.

My doctors even called them and my consultant from my local hospital who referred me for IVF to them, still wouldn't accept it's a genuine mistake on a form.

Appreciate your help xxxx

Thank you, I have tried all Pharmacies near me but no joy at the moment xx

Can your GP not get you a test done at their practice? I had my done at my drs surgery whilst I was attending my midwifes appointment( for different reasons) It seems very unfair an administration error has put you in this difficult situation. I would complain. I hope you get it sorted soon xoxo

Hey Jess

Sorry late response phone bat went after calling hundreds of places lol

My practice don't do it and they have tried other local ones and they don't either.

I think going to have to complain, I've waited since my miscarriage for news of my 3rd cycle whilst still coming to terms with my loss and they just don't seem to want to help.

Seems like this test is no longer done except by midwives, which I wouldn't get to see one as not pregnant. Hoping once they pick up the phone to me I can say what Diane advised and see if they will help arrange that. Fingers crossed

Thanks for responding xxxx

Really hope it is sorted for you soon. Xx
