Embryo transfer but I’m sniffly

Got an embryo transfer tomorrow for day 5 blasto and was thinking I would transfer 2 embryos which is all I have. I’ve not slept well since the collection and I’m starting with the sniffles and a sore throat. Anyone else felt unwell at transfer time? I just want everything to be perfect and give us the best chance!

I’ve seen ladies who’ve had colds in here during the tww and it doesn’t affect anything. In fact, maybe it’s a good thing? You know the theory behind the scratch? Maybe if you’re a bit poorly your body goes into a repair mode and makes it more receptive? I might just be talking rubbish but it’s a nice way of thinking about it. Stay hydrated. Take paracetamol and good luck either way xx

Before mine in September I started feeling a sore throat and minor cold symptoms but thankfully it only lasted a day or two.

Good luck for transfer tomorrow. Xxx

Good luck for tomorrow. I think it won't make any difference. Just try to get some rest this eve xx

i think this depends what it is... I had an infection (from egg collection) when i had my fresh cycle and the clinic said it wasn't ideal as my body was fighting the infection, i also had to start antibiotics but they gave me the option of still going ahead - i did, and it didn't work. Still don't know if it was related but the clinic gave me a FET for free (as part of my only NHS funded cycle) so my gut feeling is they shouldn't have done the transfer and realised they were in the wrong! I'd also called their advice line 3 times during the previous 5 days with a temp and feeling unwell and they said just take paracetamol. Consultant said that advice was wrong and i should have had antibiotics much sooner. I appreciate a cold isn't the same but maybe check with your clinic? Xx

Thanks it seems like it is a bit of a cold and sore throat so I’ve treated it with rest, smoothies and salt water gargles. Had a single embryo transfer so hoping it’s a strong and sticky one!
