We chose a donor!!

My partner and I logged onto the donor site tonight and there was a new one which had exactly or very similar characteristics to what we were after.

So we held our breath and hit request donor now.

Now to wait two days for the confirmation email and then hopefully I can book my orientation visit with the nurses at the clinic

The company we are doing IVF with has a donor website, which lists all the donors and their details. You get access to it when you reach the top of the donor waitlist. It was a 6month wait for us xxx

Brilliant! Congrats. Its a mad and surreal process choosing a donor, but I found one I thought sounded great, and I haven't looked back since. Very best of luck x

Good job! This step is always emotional as you want your kid to look like you. We've been through donor egg cycles overseas. The clinic's donor database is really huge. Each donor is fixed in the photo and video with the help of special 3D technology. So we were able to see a woman from all sides. Zooming in and out the image. On the basis of this material they create an anthropometric and physiognomic portrait of the woman. Then her basic characteristics are digitized. After receiving the same data about the future father they are superimposed on each other. So this is hw they can predict the possible appearance of a child. In addition, you get more information from the profile such as the IQ of the donor, education, abilities, inclinations, state of health (like dental health), temperament etc.

The step done is very important. Hope your donor will produce many beautiful eggs for you. Good luck!

Oh wow! Ours definitely was not this detailed. We just received access to the sperm donors profiles which included characteristics, medical history, family history, education and interests etc.

Wow how exciting! We picked ours a few weeks ago out of 3. Settled for a UK woman age 24 whos a university student which looked the most like me. As its overseas though its annonymous X
