Can anyone tell me the cheapest place to get some more progesterone pessaries (cyclogest)? The clinic gave me a prescription on transfer day and said to shop around for the best price! Thanks xx
Progesterone Pessaries : Can anyone... - Fertility Network UK
Progesterone Pessaries

Can’t you get your GP to issue them? I get via my GP ( my fertility doctor wants me on them during the first 12 weeks & wrote to my GP) Congratulations again!xoxo 😘

The clinic just gave me the prescription and said shop around, maybe because we are self funded!! X
I would definitely ask your GP as you are now confirmed to be pregnant & need to take them during your pregnancy your GP should be able to prescribe. Worth a try; might save you a fortune!
As my GP could see my fertility specialist had advised I take them during the first 12 weeks ( I didn’t have IVF) & there was no issue. The chemist had to order them in especially for me ( it’s not something they have at hand) but it only took a day to get them in! xoxo
Asda xx
I’ve used Fertility2u online up to first scan (6-7wks)rest allowance was signed off by my GP which was roughly next additional 5weeks injections +pessaries.
Hi Luna11, I agree that you should shop around. Ring a pharmacy at your local hospital to get a quote, then a few others in your local area. If you are on a private/self-funded prescription, pharmacies will add different mark-ups - these vary anywhere up to 100%+ as we've discovered. Good luck and congratulations!
Ah thank you for that bit of information, I will ring a few tomorrow 👍🏻 xx
I recently got a quote of just under £100 for 112 pessaries, which was the cheapest; the most expensive being almost £150 - so I think it was worth it! It was even worse with the standard IVF injections - the difference was, in one case, over 100%! Pharmacy, where we were treated, was the best for the injections etc. but were more expensive for the additional pessaries so a local pharmacy came up trumps!
Ive chosen Fertility 2u as they only provided the best price for prontogest ive used(unlicrnsed) and I could’ve get £9.35 per vial...buserelin they selling for £23.50 per vial, cycligest and Progrynova not that expensive elswhere. Let us know of Asda prices😉good luck with your trearment
Definitely worth it, it’s a shame companies put extra on, ivf is enough money in itself let alone all the drugs!! Xx
We use Stork. For the medication I need now (lubion and Utrogestan), they are the same price as Asda but they deliver to your house, free of charge the next day! It’s just hassle free so definitely worth checking xx
Hi I went to my gp and they wrote me a prescription for them as I needed to take for 12 weeks.
I shopped around and Asda was the cheapest by about £30 x
I paid £60 for 70 pessaries at Asda last week
I’d agree with Asda x
I’m in Asda now getting them!! Thanks xx
I bought an NHS pre-payment card £29 for 3 months of prescriptions and have got the GP to prescribe them. Congratulations! I am BFP too, but feel nervous as its so early!!!!
