Progesterone pessaries

Hi All

I’m 9dp3dt so gearing up for testing (which is supposed to be next Tuesday but I’m away with work Monday to Wednesday so may try to hold off until Thursday so I’m with hubby-although it’s so hard!!) I just want to test now but guess it’s too early!?

So-I’m currently on progesterone pessaries twice a day but these run out on Monday! It feels very early to stop-has anyone else stopped the day before test date?

Also our clinic don’t do any blood tests-you’ve just got to buy your own pee test and then if positive they’ll scan a few weeks later. Is this normal??

Lastly-can you ladies recommend the best test to buy?

Thank you-sorry for so many questions. My mind is working overtime!🙄

Hello! Well done for getting this far! I was told to keep taking pessaries until test date and then If test was positive they’d ask me to continue them? Might be worth calling your clinic to check and make sure you have some to take away with you? Best of luck! Xxx

Thanks Elizabeth. It just feels as if everything from the clinic just stops day before test date. I’ll give them a call on Monday. When is your test date?

Yeah my prescription only takes me up to test date too. Test date is next Friday which would be 13dp5dt. Hope your doing ok? Test wise I’ve heard most people recommend first response and clear blue Xx

It’s odd that they didn’t even give you enough to last until otd. What if you get a bfp? At my clinic with a bfp you take them until at least 8 weeks and sometimes longer depending on the circumstances. And you have to buy your own test? Although we have to test at home at least our clinic provide us with one. How odd 🤔 Anyway good luck, keep us posted xx

I know! I thought that was really stingy! We’ve paid for the whole cycle and they can’t even give us a complimentary pregnancy test!! 🙄

Ask your clinic to do you a prescription for some more, I didn’t have enough and was able to get more. I didn’t have a blood test just the ‘pee on a stick’ method x

Hi, sounds normal to me!! I had 1 pessary left on otd and had to buy my own stick to pee on! My clinic said it had to be a clear blue test and when I asked about pessaries they told me there isn't evidence that keeping taking them helps cos your body will be producing everything it should if it's pregnant.. Good luck for your test day (whenever you decide to take it!) xx

Thanks-was just feeling a bit lost. Glad to know it’s normal from the clinics. Clear blue tests now purchased-just a question of how long I can hold out!!😊

Yep, make sure your clinic give you another prescription. I had my transfer today and straight afterwards they handed me a prescription for when they run out.
