Day 55, No periods, negative pregnancy test!

Hi All!

I was recommended by the consultant for an IVF this month. the procedure would have started this month day 14. But its Day 55 today and I haven't got my periods. Neither is the pregnancy test showing positive. Finally, when I had made my mind for the ivf procedure, the no show period tension appears. I have some symptoms like tiredness, uneasy, loss of breath, irritation, feel too hungry all the time. But these symptoms could also be because of PCOS or stress. I spoke to the nurse and she asked me to test again next week and then they would call me for a blood test. Is anyone experiencing the same or has similar experience? I don't know if i should be happy or sad. Always confusing now a days

Regards!

Could it be that your body has ‘skipped’ a period? I’ve had this once or twice in my life, usually due to stress or illness.

On the other hand, could be a pregnancy that is just not showing up yet? I know it was a long time ago and tests are better now but my mum says when she was pregnant with me I didn’t show up until she was 12 weeks.

Is it home pregnancy tests that are giving you negatives? You need that blood test!

Sorry you are going through this, you must be desperate for an answer (or your period!) x

Thanks alot for your reply! Yes negative on the home pregnancy test. As suggested by the nurse, I would take a test next week again! Hopefully some answer! Thanks again! I also wish you the best! :)

This sounds really very frustrating for you. I hope you’re able to get some answers either way, and soon, so that you’re able to move forward with a plan in place xx

Hi

The same happened to me my periods were always on time and never late. But when I was due to start my cycle of ivf it decided to be 2 weeks late so typical . I think it's because thinking about it and wanting it to come makes your body more stressed so it can delay it. I remember having ovulation symptoms the day I was due on which was meaning my cycle was 6 weeks. When my ivf failed my period came a week early. Then again on my next cycle it was late again. I think our bodies get very confused. X
