So we got our BFN last week following an early period and are just heartbroken. Absolutely devasted.
I am taking some time off work to process it all and have a good cry.
We have our review appointment next week and Diane has kindly sent me a list of questions to ask our consulant ( thanks again Diane)
We have a few Frosties and I think we’d like to start FET as soon as possible / sitting around moping just doesn’t suit me. I need a plan to feel better.
This was our first fresh cycle so not really sure what’s involved in a FET. Presumably buserelin to stop ovulation then something else?
Thanks for all your support xxx

Thank Lisa. I am hoping our clinic let’s us start on my next cycle since I am more or less over this one already. I’ll see what they say next week. It is devastating but got to stay hopeful it will work.
Hope the 2ww is going ok - all the best this week and hope to read your BFP news soon xxx
Thank you!!! That sounds much better than the fresh cycle and all the stimming injection and waddling around the house (ended up with mild OHSS, which probably didn’t help).
Not long for your OTD (although I know it probably feel like forever when your living it!) wish you all the best and a strong positive BFP.
Thanks again, your message lifted my spirits a bit xx
Aww you're welcome. Haha yes it is better, other than tiredness which has been bad (I cannot sleep) and moodiness I have not had any other side effects. Ouch, Mild OHSS couldn't of been nice for you.
Yes, not long in reality but yes it really does seem like forever! I'm driving myself mad.
I think everything has been covered in the message from genten but I have always had to down regulate first - prostap injection once which is equivalent to buserelin everyday, bleed then baseline scan and onto progynova to build my lining, depends on how your clinic do things. Hope your review appt goes ok. Thinking about you!xx
I had a failed fresh cycle and then after that initial bleed I had to wait for next period which was only 3 weeks. I started taking tablets 3 times a day, I went in for a base line scan then had my egg defrosted 15 days later - it survived and I went in same day for transfer ! I started taking pessaries twice s day then aswell as tabs and had my OTD 11 days later which was positive! Currently 10 weeks 5 days pregnant ! 💗 best of luck to you xxxx
I had a natural FET, so did not have to take any drugs, just had three scans during my cycle - day 8, 12 and 20 (after I had ovulated to check I had ovulated because my ovulation sticks did not give me a strong positive). Then when we worked out what day I had ovulated on, I went in for the transfer 7 days later on day 21. Was very lucky to have a BFP that so far is sticking. Good luck to you!
I am convinced, through no medical knowledge- just my own body- that after the Egg collection my uterus was so battered and bruised that there was no way an embryo was sticking around that time - by the time of the natural FET, I
Was fully recovered and had even less stress in my life. (We had FET done four months after first round, purely because of a holiday and getting an appointment back into see the doctor. ) much nicer on the body and because it was so less less stressful overall, I feel as though I was more primed to deal with it. Our infertility is unexplained also- in case that info helps understand why we had natural FET.
Thank you. I hadn’t thought of doing a natural FET, i’ll see what the clinic says. Thank you for message - I think I was the same. I had mild OHSS and initially told I might have to wait but then they said unless I was feeling really sick after egg collection I could go ahead with transfer - with hindsight I ought to have waited. Just hope FET is the one!
I've just done my second medicated fet. Day 1 of cycle call clinic, day 21 start buserelin after 2 weeks on buserelin have blood test to see if shut down. If shut down given date to start patches and tablets. 2 weeks after that attend for lining scan all being well given a date to start pessaries, stop buserelin and attend for transfer. I haven't found doing a medicated fet stressful, yes it's annoying having to do injections every day but you get into the swing of things. Good luck xx
Thank you! This seems like the process followed by clinic - they mentioned buserelin and patches. I didn’t find the injections all that bad in the end - the buserelin side effects were pretty bad though. Looking forward to get going again.
Thank you. I should find out next Thursday whether my FET protocol is the same. I am sure they said something about buserelin and patches. Have one vial of buserelin and a ton of needles left!
I am ok thats sweets. Hows you? are you managing to avoid google? I really struggled with that in my 2ww! x
I’m glad you’re ok. Hopefully (if you’re ready) you can get moving with your FET soon.
I’m ok. Have googled a tiny bit but trying to avoid it...had a bit of brown spotting 2 days ago but seems to have passed. Don’t know what to think?? The 2WW plays games with your mind! I was convinced AF was coming...but now I just don’t know?! Argh!
