Worth a listen if you can get it on Iplayer radio. Discussing how little is done to investigate male infertility. I found it interesting even if male infertility is not a particular issue.

I totally agree that the man is ignored. We have been told for 3 years by NHS doctors that sperm sample is satisfactory when it clearly wasn’t. They made me feel very old and put the blame on my age despite my hormones being very good. Nobody even suggests how things can be improved when the supplements didn’t make any difference. I have just had an endometrial scratch which was very painful and I am annoyed that I had to go through it when the problem isn’t on my side 🙁
It is upsetting and very frustrating.
We have had very little investigation done. Husband had a sperm test was told it was fine (is it??) and I have had one scan and AMH is apparently OK. We have 'unexplained' fertility which I find quite hard to get my head around.
I agree that more needs to be done. As soon as my partners 2 sperm samples came back showing zero sperm we were advised to go straight to IVF using donor sperm. They did do a microtese op in the end to extract sperm for ICSI. But basically no investigations are carried out to see why no sperm is coming out or whether the matter can be fixed by a simple operation (if the problem is obstructive). X
Thank you for sharing, I will look it up. As someone else said, we were told sperm is ‘fine’ etc so did 3 iui (hard work) and then 3 months later they said oh actually really low sperm count must have icsi. 🙄🤷♀️ Now I’m researching if there is dna fragmentation problem, which one doctor said flippantly ‘nothing can be done about’ 🤦♀️ Xxx
