Advice for ET date

Hi all,

I am looking for some advice for my dates book for transfer. My transfer is booked for Friday but my period is due 2 days later, they have told me to stop taking Buserelin which I thought stopped my period. Would it would if my period was two days later?

I'm not completely sure how it all works but I've just done my second medicated fet. I stopped Buserelin 2 days before transfer. I've just looked and my period would have been due 4 days before transfer looking at the date of my last period. I didn't think about when my period was due as the meds mess with your cycle anyway. You could always give your clinic a ring if your concerned I'm sure they will explain it all to you. Good luck xx

I’ve no experience of taking Buserelin on cycles but in general the meds will override your natural cycle so you don’t really have a date when your period becomes due. As Penders says, if you’re concerned then give your clinic a ring and they should be able to explain it to you. Good luck with your cycle.

Buserelin doesn’t stop your period. It’s used to tell you pituitary gland to stop producing hormones that will release eggs. So by stopping Buserelin this will not stop a period. Everyone has to stop Buserelin at some point before egg transfer.
