Failed 3rd ET, need Donor advice

Hello ladies, unfortunately I got a BFN today after FET. I’m trying to be positive about things and considering our next options. One of which is to go down the donor route as this last round was our third ET. I’m 42 and have good AMH but PCOS and very crappy painful periods and side effects from stimulation and my HB has low Motilty, just wondering if anyone else’s has similar situation and has gone down the donor route? If so, did you do egg or sperm donor or both and how much did it cost.? Please could you message me privately for any good clinics specialsing in this? Thank you so much,

First of all, really sorry to hear that you had a BFN. It’s so hard. I have had 4 unsuccessful cycles and it really is physically and emotionally draining. I’m a couple of years older than and don’t have PCOS but did decide to go down donor route. I’m using both egg and sperm. I think for me donor route was not something I had thought about before starting IVF but something I came to learn more about. I was put on my clinic’s waiting list in March 2020 but still haven’t reached the top. Due to this delay (it could. E up to or over 2 years, caused by Covid, pre Covid wait was only up to 9 months) I decided to use their sister clinic abroad. I can PM you details if you are? I am going away next month for treatment. I see the donor route much the same as someone donating stem cells, it will be my baby as it’s my blood and body which are growing it. I do have concerns about anonymity but I really don’t know when I would be able to have treatment with my clinic so going abroad made sense.

At 42 you do still have time so it might be worth giving yourself a few months to think about things and rest your body - IVF is tough. If you are going down the donor route then it is less time sensitive. Sending lots of love and good wishes.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm just exhausted and confused about what to do next!

I honestly think give yourself a few months off. If you want to start the process of finding out about donor eggs then do that. Your clinic may also offer some counselling sessions which might be helpful. Just let me know if you want my clinic’s details. Good luck with your journey. Be kind to yourself, this is hard!

Hi

I’m 41 and my husbands 59. We did a known donor cycle, my sister was our donor.

My husbands sperm was slightly low on the morphology (shapes)

I do not have any issues

Our previous two cycles had 2/3 - 5 day top quality blastocysts. The first one implanted but I MC before our 7 week scan. The next two failed to implant and the final two we had PGTA tested and they were chromosomally abnormal

The third and final round was the donor egg round using my husbands sperm with ICSI. we were left with 3, 5 day blasts- the first one they put back in I’m 15 weeks + 6.

This round was the most expensive at £13,000 - £13,500

With a donor round you pay fir everything for the donor as well as yourself

We did DE and my husband had a very low sperm count and they were very good swimmers either. We had very good results for blastocysts....having not had very good results with my own eggs, they did fertilise but disnt progress very well and we ended up with only 1 or 2 blastocysts of not brilliant quality. I went abroad to Athens for our treatment. I'm not sure whether youd want to consider that with covid around but happy to give details in PM if you want me to. It coat us €5500 at the time and my meds on top were around £200 max. We had to have a few scan in this cou try for our cycles which were around £80 each.Xx
