over 40s trying for IVF

I am searching for clinic abroad to go through IVF because I am over 40 and only going to do it here privately and costly here, they keep on telling me to use egg donor and to make it harder for me I am an African originally. I have been doing a lot of research how to improve my egg because of age, when I was young it didn't take me time to get pregnant. Any advice is welcome.

Good luck x

Wishing you the best of luck. All clinics are closely monitored so you should be able to choose one based on your requirements. Start with the hfea website and take it from there. Xxx

Hello Camillage I hope you are fine. I find a clinic in Czech, I spoke to doctor and she said that I have 10 to 15% then she gave me protocols. I also spoke to other clinic and they agreed but I went for the one that gave me 15% chance. I went for it because I want it so much with out solving the problem why I could not conceive natural. I know that I have fibroid and gynaecologist sent me for scan because the appointment is 4 months to see him again I went ahead with stimulation 2 weeks, during the scan before egg retrieval it picked up multiple fibroids, scan show 2 antral follicles on my left and none on my right. My uterus appear fine I then concluded that I will stop there and go for my 4 months appointment which was 18th last Thursday but later that evening the coordinator called me and said that doctor said that I should email the scan result and said to her that is not good but email it to her, she got back that doctor said I should inject the trigger the 2 eggs have to retrieve within 24 hours. Next day I was getting ready to travel another doctor called me that they are not going to collect the egg that when I come they will do another scan. I told them that I am not going to come I will wait and see doctor here. So I saw gynaecologist last Thursday 18th and he said that they are going to do keyhole surgery and remove the fibroids and it look like my right fallopian tube was block by fibroid that is why it did not produce any antral follicles during the stimulation. Now I am on awaiting list. He said that after the surgery they will tell if I can go and try or refer me for ivf but is going to be private clinic. what I plan after surgery is to go to another clinic abroad and try again since the problem s out of the way and will not be too costly abroad like here and no waiting list.

Wow, you have had quite a journey and what a run around by your clinic. I am so sorry to hear that. It sounds like you have the right plan to get the positive result. Once your surgery is out of the way it will be great to finally get going. You must be so frustrated!

Sending you big hugs xxx
