I was reading about dates in google last night after having a handful of dates as I eat 6 to 8 dates every night before or after dinner as it's been said a super good and got iron and folates in it and I like them as Muslims we believe dates are really healthy. Last night after having my usual quantity of dates I read by the way about it and it's written that they are not good in early pregnency and they create heat and it should be eaten third trimester not in early and it help ease in delievery but harmful in early pregnency but I been eating them every day, now I am seriously worried that hope everything is ok and I did not lost my little darling . I am sooo scared and I won't eat dates but probably it's too late now . Xxxx
Hi: I was reading about dates in google... - Fertility Network UK
I've read that too about dates somewhere. Look a lot of things are good as per some or the other cultures in the world. But then if there's even the slightest hint of possible loss, even if as a rare side-effect that affects like 0.03% women.... we should actually refrain from it without questioning. I get it you didn't know so there wasn't much you could do to prevent it. All I can say is you can't undo past but it's best you stop having them from now on till you're on your last trimester. Hopefully, everything will be alright... so don't panic right away. You need emotional stability throughout and a stressfree first trimester, stay well!
I’m sure that it will be absolutely fine- the study about dates in labour only had a very small number of women so try not to worry yourself. However, there is a lot of sugar in dates and if you have any family history of diabetes you should avoid eating so many on a daily basis in the future. No more than one or two at a time.
