*asking 4 a friend** DOES ANYONE HAVE TURNERS SYNDROME??
Someone in my family has it so I was petrified I would too. We got our karyotype results today and we are luckily both chromosomally normal.
The person I’m talking about had to do ivf yes, I don’t think it would have happened for them naturally. They were blessed with a little boy in about their 4th double Transfer. Not sure how many rounds it took her as I don’t like to intrude too much, but I know they see him as a little miracle. Xx
From my research it didn’t seem to reduce ivf chances too much, just combined with my very low (almost menopausal) amh it would have been worrying. But i think with a normal amh then as a syndrome there is still a great chance of ivf working x
Thank u for the reply..her lil girl is only 10 and is having the growth hormone inject daily but they have said thr %of her ovaries stopping workin is very high x
My family member didn’t find out until she was married and trying for a baby... there are varying degrees of the syndrome and she didn’t display any of the outwards features really, so maybe in her case it wasn’t too severe. She is also a geneticist so I suppose had all of the information!
Poor little 10 year old, i wonder if there is anything they can do? Maybe she has it more severe if it is already identified and growth hormones are needed. It does cause low amh which is why I was worried but I’m thankful its not the cause of my low amh. I suppose since she is also only 10, she won’t have gone through puberty so amh or hormones/ovaries can’t be assessed.
It’s not a nice thing to think of for a 10 year old, but luckily egg donation is now so commonplace and available so there is hope for anyone who’s ovaries stop early on.
Hi Mrsplant. It will all depend upon how the little girl matures. Many ladies with Turner's syndrome do go on to have a baby, but usually with the help of IVF and sometimes they need egg donation too. If her womb develops, then we can manipulate it to be able to carry a baby. I'm sure the growth hormones will help. Keeping everything crossed for her as she matures. Diane
