Maca Powder and Fertility Smoothie

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well today?

I like to pick your brains on the above topic. I recently came across some materials on making fertility smoothie and I thought I would give it a try.

I'm currently undergoing FET treatment (Buserelin and progynova) and I'm not sure if maca powder could have any side effect on the injection/medicine being used, other ingredients are fruits/vegetables.

Long story short, has anyone used maca powder whilst undergoing treatment or even before it, I like to know your experiences about it.

Hi Hun, I used Maca power up until I got my period on the cycle I started my IVF on. I actually didn't consider side effects, I was just hoping it would help me concieve naturally so I wouldn't need the IVF! I did get a BFP on that IVF cycle & am almost 16 weeks pregnant ( I lost my previous 2 pregnancies before 8 weeks). I can't say there aren't side effects but in my case I'm sure it hasn't done any harm. Wishing you lots of luck 😘 xx

Hi kumkums Would you please check with your specialist before using this as it can affect hormone balance, especially oestrogen. Diane

Thanks Diane. I would just stop using it, I have just used it today for the first time.

Thanks once again.

Please can I ask about castor oil pack? Is it okay to use it during treatment? Treatment is an FET.

Hi kumkums. Yes, it should be OK, but never take castor oil orally. Also mention that you are using them to your specialist too. Diane
