Hi ladies, just wondered if your embryos dont survive the thaw properly, does this count as an nhs cycle? Thank you

I suspect it will depend on the area rules.

If they defrost in the morning whilst ur on ur way to the hospital and they call to say it didnt work then will get another set out.. if u have none left then unfortunately that is all your attempt gone. What's made u ask this??

I asked my consultant this last week as we only had 1 embryo frozen - he said they have a 95% successful defrost rate....that is just my nhs clinic. But I was happy with those odds.

Fingers crossed for you.

I have 1 frozen and was worried like you, but the emboyglist said because of the techniques they use nowadays for freezing, they rarely have any problems, so I'm putting my trust in them and looking forward to my frozen transfer which will hopefully be August.

Hope it all goes well x

Does a FET count as a cycle in its own right for you? In some areas they are counted as part of the fresh cycle - I.e a bonus go if you like

Ohh really... how do i find this out? X

Hello, so for me the FET is included. This is because after ET I was in hospital with OHSS so I couldn’t have a fresh one put back. We were told at the start though that a cycle for me is until we have a baby but I also understand that it’s only from my first egg collection though.

I am also hopefully having our first one put back in August. I hope this helps. Xxx
