Hiya! Happy new year :) I just ate a general balanced diet along with lots of water and I did eat loads of pineapple just in case there was any truth to the myth lol. Hope that helps :)

Thank you for your reply kitty, how are you getting on? With the pineapple did you eat the core for 5 days? Xx

Kiwi is always a good idea. Like Kitty says, pineapple after transfer including the core. If you can stomach it, grapefruit or grapefruit juice to help blood flow (pink grapefruit works just as well and tastes sweeter). Plenty of water to help blood flow. Pomegranate juice before FET to help build up your lining. And lots of green veggies and protein (chicken and nuts are the best). Wishing you every luck xx

Thanks for your reply hun! With the pomegranate juice, did you just drink it everyday? I want to get my lining thick, hoping to start accpunture again to. X

I bought a bottle and drank a little (about 100ml) each day between the end of my period, cd5, to ovulation. It's a bit of an odd taste, and expensive, so you may not want to buy more than one bottle, just adjust the days you drink it based on your cycle. I read somewhere that you shouldn't drink it after ovulation. I think it did help my lining, and I got a sticky 1 on my third cycle of drinking it (bfp was mostly down to cyclogest and hubby giving up the booze, but this can't have hurt!) Good luck hun, I hope this is your one xx

Oh wow congratulations hun!! I started my period today :( hoping to start drinking the pomegranate juice towards the end of my period. I have my nurse consultantation next week. So will be good to see what they suggest going forward. After this Xmas break it will be good to give up sugar for a bit lol. X

in reply toNDE1987

Thank you 💕

Sorry your period started today. I hope the nurse is able to give you some good advice. I started reading articles on how sugar affects each day of our cycles to put me off eating it, I have a serious sugar addiction. I also increased my exercise the cycle before the lucky one after over a year of taking things easy. Not by too much though, only about 25%. Vitamin D supplement is also a good idea for this time of year xx

Thanks for your reply hun, could I please ask if you fell pregnant naturally of by ivf? I have had two failed ivfs and got testsed for high NK cells. I will do my very best to cut the junk.out! But I generally do eat healthy

X

in reply toNDE1987

It was a natural cycle but supported by cyclogest. I have a hormone imbalance with my progesterone dipping only a few days after ovulation but not enough to start af. It took so long to convince specialists that I might get pregnant with that support, I feel justified that it worked when we finally got it. My GP referred us for IVF only a few days before the BFP. Like you, I was preparing for the IVF cycle and just adding any good foods recommended to an already healthy diet. It sounds as if you're doing all the right things so I'm feeling very positive for you xx

Awww Hun I am so happy for you!!! I love hearing a happy ending :) my issue is I have endometriosis. I have tried getting pregnant naturally and now I have found out I have high NKcells. Hoping my cycle with steoriods works out. I am scared though as my periods have become very light since the treatments. I have loads of cyclogst left over my cycles, maybe I should have used those lol. X

in reply toNDE1987

Fingers crossed for the steroids. Don't worry about having light periods, mine have been light since coming off the pill, progressively getting lighter, which is why I tried the pomegranate juice. When I say light I mean really light. TMI but I'd only bleed lightly for a few hours before spotting very lightly for 4 days xx

NDE1987 in reply to

Thanks for the reassurance! Maybe I have low progesterone aswell that my periods are light. Last month I only bled for literally a day and spotted for about two days after. It's so odd after my periods lasting for 4 days before! X

in reply toNDE1987

The cyclogest actually made my period lighter. Perhaps it's the endo? I had horrifically painful periods before the progesterone and have wondered if I was developing endo before taking it, but the cyclogest seems to have calmed those symptoms thankfully. So if I was developing it, hopefully it is now under control xx

Hi ladies... progesterone makes your periods lighter, oestrogen makes them heavier.

Often those with heavy painful periods have too high levels of oestradiol (oestrogen) and/or low levels of progesterone.

I recommend a book: “the period repair manual” I’ve been reading over xmas and it has been life changing to actually understand our fertility, hormones and what ovulation really means.

The pill is full of synthetic hormones and does not induce a ‘period’ or aid ovulation. It actually effectively turns off ovulation... so your periods end up lighter (or absent) after coming off the pill as your body tries to ovulate and make its own hormones again. Good follicle health and progesterone levels take about 100 days to recover naturally.

It’s a very easy to read book and may help you understand what’s happening x

Oh wow hun thanks for the reply and the useful knowledge. I appreciate you taking time to post as I didn't know some of the stuff you mentioned! It sometimes goes over my head so much!! I will have a look at the book you recommend x

My chiropractor suggested lots of avocado and things like that with lots of healthy fats. He told me to eat at least one avocado a day after my first failed transfer. I did and got pregnant with both FETs last year (although miscarried each time so not entirely positive). Try and cut out sugar and processed foods and drink loads and loads of fluids to make sure all of your cells are as plump and healthy as they can be too. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! I have been having an avacado smoothies daily but during the Xmas break I kind of gave up and started eating rubbish! I will get back on the smoothies x

Happy New Year. For my fet I didn't fuss as I did on my previous three cycles. I continued taking folic acid after my failed third cycle. I ate my normal food, beetroot, brocolli ,lentils, cut down on coffee, ate nuts, had smoothies to which I added beetroot, spinach and I added maca powder and baobab fruit powder to my smoothies.i also had reflexology two days before my FET.i did the same during the tww .i had my first ever strong bfp .my little person is growing ok and I'm just praying it continues to hang in there. I still take the the baobab fruit powder and continued drinking lots of water.

All the best for the new year.

Thanks I transferred on Saturday. Out of curiosity what happened with your first cycle?

NDE1987 profile image
NDE1987 in reply tosanchia46

Hey hun, I have had two failed IUIs and two failed ivf cycles. The first cycle I didn't respond to medication well and only had 3 eggs. The second cycle was better and I had 13 eggs. Of those I had a 5 day embryo transferrd. For whatever reason it didn't implant. As I had two failed implantations I hady NK cells testsed which came back as high and normal (testsed over 2 months) so my next cycle I am due to have low steroids and a scratch x
