Hysteroscopy and FET

Hello. Has anyone had a hysteroscopy close to a FET? I’ve had one done today and hoping to start treatment for a FET next week when my period is due. Hoping to understand if anyone ended up delaying their FET or went straight ahead with it. X

Call your clinic/Doctor and they should be able to give you an answer to this question as they already know your history , blood results etcGood luck for the future

Take care

Thank you Janet! The problem is I’m getting conflicting advice from doctors, hence the ask. But thanks very much for replying x

Hi, I’m having a hysteroscopy and fet in that same cycle. So hysteroscopy, then start Norethisterone next day, withdrawal bleed 7 -10 days later, then I’ll start the oestrogen after the baseline scan. My clinic said I can delay starting the Norethisterone until the day after which is not day 19, but day 28. Also the hysteroscopy acts as a endo scratch for the fet so that’s good.

Hope this helps. X

Thanks for sharing, that’s really helpful!! I thought the same thing about it being similar to a scratch so I didn’t understand why there would be an issue. Thanks so much 💜 wishing you all the best!! X

Hi there - I had a hysteroscopy and then started my FET as soon as my period came. So just like you're planning on doing. And it was successful! Not sure if it's linked at all but it clearly didn't do any harm 😊

Obviously some of this will depend on the results of your hysteroscopy but assuming all is well, I don't see why you can't start right away. I also think my hysteroscopy delayed my period a little, just as a warning.

Best of luck!!

Oh wow, that’s amazing congratulations! Thanks for sharing. Mine was just to remove a very teeny piece of retained pregnancy tissue so no concerns there. And yes I had thought it might delay my period a little bit. Thanks again 💕💕💕

I'm so sorry for your loss 💔 and I hope the procedure went well and you're feeling okay. I think as it was to remove some pregnancy tissue they might advise to wait a cycle so your body can fully heal... But it's also up to you as it sounds like the clinic will let you go ahead if you want to!

I know waiting is hard but you could always focus on using the month to prep and enjoy yourself fully - get out into the warmer weather, have lots of omega 3s, do some yoga ... Eat brie and drink an aperol spritz in the sun. ☀️

Hi sorry just seen your response!! Thank you 💕 so we did struggle with the decision but decided to see what my lining looked like on day 8 scan and it looked perfect so we’re planning on doing the transfer hopefully in about a week 🤞 thanks so much again x

Hi there, like someone said above the hysteroscopy can act like the scratch so a positive thing. I had a hysteroscopy to remove a septum, so I had to wait for 2 months before I could transfer to heal. If it was just an investigative hysto then I'm sure it's all fine! Good luck x

Thank you for sharing, so helpful! They removed a small piece of tissue but essentially like a scratch. Hope you recovered well 💜 thanks again!! X

No, I was told I had to have a period before I could go ahead with a FET

Thanks for sharing, that’s really helpful to know 💕💕

It depends what they did as part of the hysteroscopy, but if it was to remove tissue which I think you said yours was I would expect to have to wait at least one cycle before starting x

Hi lovely. I had a hysteroscopy 3 weeks ago and have started a frozen cycle this month. My hysteroscopy was just to have a look at my womb rather than to have anything removed so I think Daisys right. Good luck!xxx

Had a hysteroscopy on day 10 of my previous cycle, got results of the biopsy a week later (had the general overview results on the spot on day of hysteroscopy).

Had my natural FET next cycle.

No issues. All the best x
