Does anyone know how long it takes to be accepted at Leeds fertility seacroft hospital? I’ve just been placed on the waiting list and I’m currently saving up for donor sperm while waiting. Also does anyone know if they provide extras at this hospital such as the embryoglue and endometrial scratch?

Hi. I'm at Leeds. Have you had any appointments yet? I had my initial appt within a month from referral. We needed more tests even though the gp had already done some they wanted them repeated. This took a couple of months. Then a month wait for a nurse consultation and all the consent work. From referral to start of treatment was 5 months. We haven't used donor sperm so I'm not sure about that. We may be heading that way so it would be interesting to here of your experience.

Yes they do do extras. Not sure about the scratch though, they were doing it as part of a trial. X

I’ve had no appointments with seacroft as of yet. I’ve just had a referral put through around a month ago by st James hospital gynecology as that’s who I’m currently under and I’ve been with them for nearly a year. So I haven’t experienced it all yet. It’s my first go of ivf so that’s free for me and donor sperm I have to pay for and I’ve seen seacroft I believe who have people who donate there sperm anonymous and un anonymous. When it comes round too my first go of ivf I’ve decided I’m going to pick the one where I can see the persons profile, all medical history and background. They do a letter as to why they want to donate and a small video of themselves. The price is £800 but cheaper for the anonymous. I’m a single women so I’m worried I may not be accepted because I don’t have a partner. But the gynaecologist told me not to worry sometimes they do accept and sometimes they can refuse, because of me being single it all depends on my situation. So I’m just trying my best to save up before an appointment comes along. Do you know of any single women that are at seacroft? My friend said she has seen women alone there but that could just be that there a lesbian couple and one has gone in for a procedure and the other is waiting outside. I’m not sure I’m just worried about being refused that’s all.

They had a health and nutrition course I went to and there were some single women there that I briefly spoke to. Otherwise I haven't spoken to anyone else at my appointments. I don't know what the criteria are for single women but I wish you luck. If you want to know anything else please free to message me. Also I called up and got a cancellation which brought my initial appointment foward. X

Hi, I’ve just been told on this thread not sure if you can see somebodys who’s currently attending seacroft said that she may be wrong but thinks single women are not entitled to the first free go of ivf.. do you know if this true or not? As my gynecologist referred me who’s a consultant so it makes no sense as to why she would knowing unless she was giving me false hope but still don’t get why she would refer me knowing I’m only going to get refused

Hiya am currently at this clinic

They do offer endo scratch, embryo glue and embryoscope.

Been there 18 months now and had 3 rounds 2x fresh and 1 fet. I've not had any problems so far x

I might be wrong but i dont think single women qualify for the free round at seacroft but if you look up the ccq requirements it should tell you on there xx

Have you seen this somewhere? I felt really good now I’ve seen this I feel rubbish. I was referred to seacroft by my gynaecologist consultant who’s one of the highest people so I thought she would know before referring me.. I’m not sure. If that’s the case then why do they offer donor sperm at seacroft makes no sense that’s stupid. I’ll give them a ring and ask.

Thank you x

They are pretty tight with funding at seacroft. Only get one funded cycle and they are pretty strict with the criteria. Bmi is definitely one they threatened to cancel as mine was creeping up to 30.

My friends are in a same sex relationship and i know they had to pay for their ivf at seacroft. But it might be different for your case. I hope you get the answer you are looking for when you ring xx

My bmi is fine, was it your friends first free round of ivf? And they decided it wasn’t and tried to charge instead? Of giving them a free go? I’m straight but as young as Iam as I’m only 24 endometriosis and pcos causes your egg quality to deteriorate so in my situation at the moment I don’t feel like I have time to wait for the right person. I was going to take a free go of ivf and pay for donor sperm. When I explained this to the consultant she still said I should be put onto the waiting list. Thanks anyway x

They just got told no funding so ended up paying lucky for them it worked 1st time.

I too have PCOS so get what you mean about the egg quality, luckily i have a good reserve and at 36 my AMH was pretty high.

They do that blood test for £70 but its worth it as they use it to work out your drugs.

I really hope im wrong as everyone deserves to be a mother, but if you do have to go private i think 1 round of ivf costs around £3500 at seacroft plus medication (ours was £650)

Sorry if i upset you xx

in reply toMrsgled1982

No you didn’t upset me personally, I hope it didn’t come across that way it’s the nhs that upsets me there just a nightmare! Nothing is ever simple with them. I hope so too, thanks for the info and good luck on your journey I wish you all the best xxxx
