Hi all, I am 7 + 1. Since about 5 weeks I have had spells of nausea, maybe the odd thing each day that smells funny or if I’m especially tired, I’ll feel sickly. Gradually this has become more frequent, but still never actually sick. However what’s confusing me is some days I feel nauseous most of the day - like yesterday bang on my 7 weeks - but today no nausea at all. I seem to have days where I get all the symptoms in the world - again like yesterday, I was lightheaded all day and felt super sickly, and also super exhausted, but today feeling fine apart from the tiredness which is standard feature now.
I know some pregnant ladies have symptoms and some don’t. I get that. But do you also have fluctuations in levels!!? I kinda (maybe naively) thought it would be all or nothing!!

I had sickness most days but then randomly I would have an odd day where I felt great (normal) and no sickness. I soon learnt to enjoy these days as the sickness always came back, it’s your hormones changing daily xx
Hi WeeMrsH. I wouldn't worry about this, as you seem to be fortunate, inasmuch that you are not suffering with full blown morning sickness. Some of us only have it mildly or even not at all. Then you get those who have a tough time. I'm sure all is OK. Thinking of you. Diane
Thanks Diane. I guess it’s when it changes or is not consistent that we worry! After how I felt yesterday I thought that was it properly kicking in so braced myself for today - but I’m fine! x
Me and others worry about this too! I have only suffered with feeling queasy and the need to constantly eat to help keep it at bay. I had that around the middle of six weeks and then it stopped just after 7 weeks. The midwife didn't seem concerned when I told her at 8 weeks. I was so worried that at 9 weeks I had another scan (private) and saw the baby wriggling away. Since then I still get a bit of the nausea, but not every day. Some days I feel fine, some days I feel pregnant.. Obviously the worry is still there. We might just be incredibly lucky, and don't do what I do.. Read the internet lol. Good luck xx
Glad all is well Michelle! Thanks so much for the reassurance. Your experience sounds similar to what I am going to get.
How fab to see your baby again. I had a very understanding doctor who at my 7 week scan (at 6+5) offered to scan me again on 19th when I’d be approaching 9 weeks. 🤞🏼🤞🏼❤️
Aww that's nice of them hun! I have my 12 week one the day after lol. It's good to speak about what is worrying you, because on here there will be at least one who is/has felt very similar. It's good to have some peace of mind and to know you might be normal. Lol. Xx
It's completely normal for sickness to fluctuate and impossible to get on top of why that is you can only do your best to take it easy on the worse days also eat little and often and get plenty of fluids hopefully it will all settle after a few more weeks x
Eating yesterday was all that helped lol. Thanks, I’ll try to take each day as it comes. We love to 2nd guess don’t we 🙄 xx
This is completely normal. I didn’t have any symptoms until 8 weeks and now at almost 13 weeks I have migraines that come and go, alternate days of intense nausea, sometimes everyday, sometimes nothing then it comes on suddenly, dizziness from 12 weeks and v regular nose bleeds. I’m hoping things ease in the 2nd trimester but i’ll Take anything as long as my baby is healthy and safe 🙏🏼Xxx
This does make me feel better, thank you Natalia!!! I had braced myself today after how rough I felt yesterday, thinking the sickness was coming for real - but nope!
I get migraines monthly so know how horrible they are; sorry you’re suffering with these. As you say we would take it all if we had to!!! xxx
Being pregnant is scary and it’s only normal to worry and over analyse but happy to hear you feel reassured 😘 Xxx
My symptoms, though generally mild, definitely fluctuate. Only two days ago I felt so normal that I completely panicked, however, by the following afternoon, I felt nauseous and had a pretty bad headache. I've been feeling 'off' since then! From my own experience it seems to be normal. Xx
Good old fluctuating symptoms keeping us on our toes! 🤢 😃 🤢 😟 🤢 😢 🤢 Just as you start getting used to one thing your body will throw you a curve ball with no rhyme nor reason, merely to make sure it’s still getting your undivided attention! Relish those good sickly-free days and ride the bad ones out and hopefully you’ll get some added reassurance at your next scan too.
I reckon it just about keeps me from going insane! 🤪🤣 if I stopped laughing through the pain, it would be a really miserable sad snotty mess left over and I can’t find an emoji to cover that! Keep smiling through and maybe one day things will get better 😘
I had fluctuating symptoms during my first trimester. I was always really worried when I didn’t have any but then they came flooding back. It is scary but try and make the most of not having any so that you cope better with them when you do x
