Hello people, i went for my scan today (day 8) and ive got lots of follicles...23 on my right ovary and 21 on the other but my overies are taking over the world (6cm's each) i have mixed emotions as im scared they might pull the plug if my ovaries get any bigger but obviously really pleased that my folicles are doing what they should be doing. However, i know its more about quality than quantity and i think there only at 6.3mm at the moment. Has anyone been in a simalar situation? Im also super uncomfortable 😩😩

Definitely don’t read google! Relax and go with what the hospital say. Until they say they’re worried you carry on as normal. This journey is hard enough for us all as it is without us putting additional pressure on ourselves x
Sounds to me as though you will be at risk of ohss, your clinic might want you to freeze all your embryos if you develop that, as pregnancy makes ohss worse. If you freeze them all then you’ll get a frozen transfer once you recover x
Yeah ive got pcos n 30 + cysts on each ovary so ive already been told im at high risk of that 🙄 never smooth sailing ay. Hospital have said to carry on as normal so im guessing there not overly worried at the mo but i will be gutted if i miss out on having a fresh transfer 😩 are success rates much lower? Xx
I Just had to do a freeze all due to getting overstimulated, and the doctor told me that the latest stats are showing freeze all cycles to be equally and maybe even more successful than fresh transfers. 3 reasons. In the past freezing methods weren't good and the survival rate of embryos was low but they are really effective now. Secondly, the best embryos are always put in first so the overall stats for frozen transfers show a lower success rate because the best embryos were already used in the fresh transfer. So the old stats are comparing apples with bananas. If you do freeze all that's not the case because they freeze all of them so will still be starting with the best one, giving you equal chance with fresh transfer. So that makes it apples for apples. Thirdly, the uterus lining may be more receptive after a break from the egg stimulation. I was terrified when they told me I had to do freeze all, in case mine made it to freezing but we got some frosties and I was so glad not to be doing an implantation at the time because I got ohss. I've just done a frozen transfer and it was easy. So my point is, don't worry if that ends up being what you need to do, it doesn't reduce your chances. Good luck
I'm in the dreaded two week wait haha. This is our second icsi round. Feeling cautiously optimistic but also unsuccessfully trying not to think about it!
I was in the same position last week (if not worse) and they reduced my gonel-f dose. It was very uncomfortable (I could feel my ovaries rubbing against my belly sorry tmi🤢). They are most likely going to use a different trigger shot which will slightly reduce the number of eggs and will propose a freeze all cycle. I still had 12 eggs collected in the end. As long as they haven't told you to stop yet they can find a way to manage. Don't worry!
