Day 8 scan

Hi Lovlies,

I turn 42 this Wednesday, I had my day 8 short protocol scan today and I have 3 follicles in the 20mm range. So my egg collection has been brought forward, onto my birthday. Being positive 😅 my eggs are technically still seen as the ripe young age of 41 😂 8 follicles in total seen today.

My question is, is it normal for follicles to grow big so fast?

How old were you and how many embryos made it to day 5?

I was 39, and got 2 embryos, which are now my twins (29 weeks pregnant)

for my last three rounds I’ve been at this position by day 7! I’ve had 8-9 eggs collected each time, about 7 fertilise normally and one or two embryos make it to day 5 (also about to turn 42) so to me this all does sound very normal! Good luck and a very happy birthday to you when it comes! X 🎂

In total how many embryos made it to day 5. Did you take any supplements?

Like I said 1 or 2 embryos made it to day 5 on all of my last 4 rounds (mostly 2 but one poorer quality)

At 37 I had a similar response and 6 made it to day 5 so age playing a big factor I think.

I tried impyrl last round but have went back to ubiquinol for the next round in March then just the usual pregnacare and vitimin D.

Hi, I stimmed from day 2 to day 9 and took my trigger after my first scan on day 9 which showed large follicles. We ended up with 6 day 5 blasts. All sounding good - good luck!

That is great news. How old were you? Also in my country, Uganda, with the last cycle my follicles were 20 by day 11 and got a trigger on the 12th day. Collected only 5 eggs, 3 fertilimax and were frozen on day 3. Going for another cycle starting next month. I am 40 and worried about egg quality.

How old were you? How was your AmH levels?

I was 33 at the time of egg collection. I was not given my AMH results, but was told all levels were in the 'required ranges'. Best of luck with your next cycle x

Congratulation.Which supplementd were you using? Did you do anything different on yozr success cycle

Thank you, this was my 7th transfer. I did take some supplements from the book it starts with the egg as well as something else my doctor told me to take but i would need to check the name of it when i get home though.
