Hi guys has anyone been on the short regime and used menopur injections? I just wondered how it works. My job is making me book off annual leave for treatment but not sure how itl work. I think we’ll start treatment when my next period is due 17th July ish x
Menopur : Hi guys has anyone been on... - Fertility Network UK
Menopur
Hey, I did short protocol with merional which is similar, I didn’t really need a full day off apart from egg collection day. Scans I just worked my hours around as my clinic wasn’t far, and you might be lucky and get early morning scans which may not interfere with work.
Good luck!
They just want notice that I can’t really give them x thank you
Hi there! Just had my last Menopur injection last night on my 1st cycle (on a short protcocol too). I haven’t had any bother with these at all! No bruising, very little bloating, barely any pain - it’s a tiny sting to start with, then that’s it! I’ve had less joy with the Cetrotide, but that’s just because my husband and I have found the injection far more annoying to set up for some reason - odd as there’s less to do! 😂 I’m taking all injections at 7pm when I get in from work, to keep it easier. Wishing you all the best! Xxx
Hi,
I was on the short protocol and did the injections at home at 6 am when I got up, I didn’t have any time off whilst injecting I just had early morning scans! Best of luck to you x
Can you ask your clinic what time scans are? Even though you don’t know the exact dates they may be able to say they are early morning so you can get a feel for what time you’ll be able to get to work? As the others have said, maybe you can start late during your couple of weeks of stims?
The one thing I’ve found with IVF is that my period never comes when I expect it to so trying to book annual leave off so far in advance has not been successful. Luckily my work has been understanding and allowed me to move my annual leave about so that I’ve been able to have my 2ww off work to relax.
I did the short protocol with menopur. What I learnt about the whole fertility process is that you can’t plan it, unfortunately. I explained that briefly to my boss. I said I would need to attend the clinic every two-theee days for scans and blood tests and that I would need to take a day off for egg collection. I explained that I didn’t know when it would need to start exactly (but gave them a two week time frame) explaining that it was all down to my hormones. I was expecting to need longer off as I over-responded the first time but the short protocol suited my body much better. Most people inject for around 7-14 days roughly. I stimmed for 10 days. It might help them to know frequency of appointments and like previous poster said, roughly what time of day. Good luck and I hope your work can support you xxx
Hi
Just to echo the above. I'm on the short protocol. Injections around 9pm. I've had three progressed scans which I've been able to book at 8.30 (one was on a Sunday) so missed minimal work. I've stimmed for 12 days and have egg collection booked for day 15. I had booked two weeks off annual leave but my period before this cycle came early so I'm a week early than planned so have had to take egg collection and hopefully egg transfer day as sick leave. Very hard to plan for. Good luck. xxx
Thank you all xx
Hi, how many days you had to inject yourself with menopur?
I’m on short protocol and today is day 3 of injections.
