Sorry to hear your news. Did they tell you what your follical count number is or AMH level? You are not alone with low egg reserve. There are lots of ladies on here with low egg count who have still gone on to have success with IVF. I too was told I had a low egg reserve and wasnt ovulating at 31 xx
My AMH at 31 was 6.6 and was diagnosed last year. There are plenty of ladies on here that have much lower levels that have had sucess. My follical count was 5/6. Did you see any follicals on your scan?
I was told IVF would be the best option. Luckily it worked first time fir me and I am currently 38 weeks into my pregnancy so dont give up! Are they going to carry out an AMH blood test on you? Have they recommended next steps? Xx
They already did Amh that’s why the doctor called me for the scan today.
I got blood tests again to check more hormones and will go back in two weeks. I just feel defeated because I felt that she was saying that not even IVF would help.
Let’s see what the NHS say in two weeks and I might go private for a second opinion.
I’m 31 and my AMH came back as 6.1 and I wasn’t ovulating either. And our best option was IVF so last October we began our first cycle and I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant with a baby boy after first cycle of IVF xx
I’m sorry to hear your news and can relate. Sadly you are me about 6 weeks ago and I totally get that in the shock of being given such unexpected and sad news you didn’t think to ask questions. It’s so much to process but you will get there. Be kind to yourself but also remember it may not be as bad as you initially think. Harder doesn’t necessarily mean impossible. There’s almost always hope.
Unsure if its helping as I haven't been tested again but giving it a try anyway. my 1st ivf cycle due to start in July with NHS. Was lucky to get a try with them and pinning all my hopes on it xxx
Sorry to learn about your grief. I don't have the appropriate words to console you. It is really painful. The extent of pain can be felt only by you. Our words don't have much. I hope you understand that how significant it is to have sufficient egg count. A woman is born with a huge reserve of the eggs. These eggs keep improving. After some time the quality and quantity of eggs start deteriorating. This usually happens after 35. The same is happening with you. The best thing is that the major cause of your infertility is found. It is happening because of your egg quality and quantity. It is because of this deficiency that IVF can't be the solution to your problems. I think you need to stop getting confused. Surrogacy can be really helpful. This procedure has already helped so many people who had lost the hope of becoming parents. If you have found the legal status of the process in your area then it would be much easier to make the choice.
Don’t be defeated! I’ve an AMH of 1.4 and just 5 days into my first IVF cycle. The doctor has been honest that we only have 10% chance of success but at least we have that. This IVF cycle will give us more information and then we can take it from there. Please don’t be disheartened, I know the uncertainty is overwhelming. There are always options, just take it one step at a time. I wish you lots of luck Xx
Thank you so much Jengi. I need to know my results and then we will go for a second opinion.
Hope you make it and I wish you te best for IVF. You’ve started already! Xxx
Hi mishlade, just to let you know I went your website over the weekend and read many of your articles. I found it really helpful and informative. Good on you and thanks for putting that together x
