Ive been doing treatment abroad (Athens), it has its benefits for sure. Cost wise it has been cheaper and also going off to the sun for a break and being able to relax is also a bonus however you have to ensure youcan get flights to particular places at all times of the year from where you live. I think you have to be careful when looking at packages to double check whats included, for example your drugs, ICSI, embryo freezing, frozen transfers etc as it can add up at some places. If you want to ask anything in particular then feel free to get in touch, happy to help!xx
fertility friends website has a lot of good information about clinics abroad too if you want to check it out. Its not quite as user friendly but you can do a lot of research on particular clinics.xx

Hi Chlobo, my OH and I had theee cycles of ICSI in the UK - two free and one paid. We decided to go abroad for treatment because th success rate is higher and the cost is less. We would highly reccomend doing so as I am now 8 weeks pregnant with twins. I’m not sure why exactly the success rates are higher but think it may be to do with the fact you’re almost (but not completely) in holiday mode and so it is less stressful on your body. We found the consultants did much more research into precious cycles and tried a different protocol, unlike our consultant at home who simply put us through the same protocol three times. If you have any other questions about treatment abroad please feel free to ask as I’m glad to be of help x
Thank you for your reply. I think surrogacy is an option for some people definitely but I’m not quite there yet.
I managed to get pregnant about 2 years ago which sadly ended with a miscarriage, so at the moment, I’m still holding onto the hope that I can get pregnant myself.
I’m so glad surrogacy was the right way for you to go. Xx
Hi ChloBo. Ive got an appointment on Thursday with a Cypriot doctor here who has a clinic in Cyprus. The success rate is 80% there and its meant to be a lot cheaper there too. Im gonna find out all the ins and outs then. Xx
