After my 4th failed round I’m a step closer to getting an overseas clinic booked. The doctor has had a look at my results from bloods here and advised my tsh is higher than what they’d like for pregnancy. It’s within the normal range here but she wants me to take l-thyroxin 0.25 mg daily and retest in a fortnight.
Where on earth am I going to get this done? My GP presumably won’t do it or give me the script given I’m within the ‘normal’ range. Anyone got any ideas what to do??
Thanks

Hi Sharon i would try ultrasound Direct if you have one near you and ask them if the do theat blood test i know they do a lot of blood tests but not sure if your one is on the list and they are very reliable i used them when my clinic is in Greece just get them to email you and then you send it on to your clinic best of luck x
Regarding getting a prescription for L-thyroxine, my gp was happy to prescribe it when I told them my fertility clinic wanted my TSH under 2 (my initial test result was 4.7 I think) GP then did blood test after 2 weeks to check level. Definitely worth going and asking your GP but if you can get a letter from the clinic it might help. Good luck!
Hey sharon, my TSH was within range at 4.96 but not good enough for conception which my clinic recommended as under 2. My clinic wrote me a letter to take to my GP asking them to prescribe me levothyroxine. I made a telephone appt with my GP and thankfully he knew this was the case and was supportive. Could you get a letter from your clinic to take to your GP? They also re-checked my bloods for me.xx
I’ll see if they can. I wasn’t sure if our GPs here would listen to someone else to be honest especially when it’s technically normal. Worth a try though!
