So I had my EC on Tuesday and been fine apart from the last couple of hrs I’ve had bad shooting pains and Very constipated I’ve used a supos and just waiting to see if that helps I suffer with IBS and I’m not aloud to use any of my tablets with ivf so been suffering a bit but tonight it’s not nice it’s keeping me awake can anyone please let me no if you have suffers like this after EC and will it calm down sorry about the long post many thanks xx

This is not a long post. I waffle on for ever! Some women have found hot water bottles can help; but I’m guessing with IBS that may not work? xx
Thank you emu2016 I mite go and do that anything to help I feel I have a big are bubble that just will not budge. things we put are body’s through to have what we all have longed a baby fingers x..
It’s worth a try. You might feel better getting up a bit and letting the bubble move a bit. I’ve no experience of IBS; so I can’t help much but can’t imagine it’s nice going through this late at night x
I felt quite rough after my most recent egg collection - I was sore (more similar to post lap pains), cramping and constipated too. I felt off for about 5 days.

I’ve no experience with IBS, but whenever I get bad trapped wind I take peppermint oil capsules from Holland & Barrett & find them really good! Check with your clinic/hospital if they’re safe for you to take, but I’d imagine they are. Obviously it won’t help you at this moment in time, but worth getting some in case it happens again. xx
I really struggled with constipation after EC, it was so uncomfortable, I’m sorry you’re having to go through this x Things which helped me were Fybogel sachets and Activia yoghurt (with prunes). I also increased my water consumption as much as I could. Good luck xx
I suffered from constipation too after EC this time - Prune juice eventually did the trick!! Don't worry - it seems to be a lot more common than I thought! x
What works for me is a smoothie of 5 prunes, a cup of fat free natural yog, cup of apple juice, a pinch of nutmeg and lots of ice all blended together. I found it on the internet. Actually tastes really nice and works for me. Good luck x
