Hey! I had my transfer on Sunday. I’m currently doing okay on the constipation front but I suffered massively during the stimulation process. I just decided to stop worrying about it in the end and I made sure I walked each day, drank a ton of water and I increased fruit and ate lots of shreddies 😂. It eventually sorted itself out. You are also allowed to take over the counter laxatives, I asked the ivf nurse. Are you worried that if you push you’ll lose the embryo? You really can’t lose it that way. I genuinely think it’s either going to work or it won’t. Hope you go soon and just know you are not alone in the waiting xxxx

hi sonisonix , sorry that you’re going through this on top of the 2ww. it must be the progesterone, make sure to drink plenty of water , eat fruit for more fiber and walk ! Prunes are a good source of natural fiber , M&S does some lovely ones! If nothing works ask the nurses for an over the counter recommendation , I think lactulose was the pregnancy friendly one.

All the best of luck with the 2ww xx

Prunes!!! Didn’t think about that, thank you so much. I will get some as I really like them too lol

The constipation is from the progesterone pessaries and it is awful. You need to have a bowl of All Bran a day and some prune juice or it will be hell in my experience. The only thing the pharmacy can give you is glycerine pessaries as you might be pregnant, at least that was what I was told. Hope you get it sorted soon xx

I’ve experienced this too, I found Rye bread helped, I toasted it, buttered and swished some berries on top, yummy! Some days I have it with eggs, it has more fibre than other breads from what I know. Walking helped me best, kept the blood and bowels moving!

I've had the same because of the progesterone. Never usually have constipation outside of a fertility round otherwise. Apples always really help me go, and porridge, both of which I've found always gives me much 'better' bowel movements anyway (apologies for the frankness 😂). But find what works for you. And definitely walking like others say. Exercise is vital for for helping to keep everything moving as it should!

I never had this problem either! Just something else to add up during IVF 🤦‍♀️

Thank you so much! I will try the porridge too!!

ugh horrible isn’t it. I swear by a spoon or two of Flaxseed as a natural way. Less gas inducing than prunes too.

Thank you so much! Didn’t think about flaxseed or linseeds…..I might have in the cupboard as apparently is good to put in the hair to prevent lice….so I had it for my neighbours kids, when there was an epidemic in their school 😂
