After being diagnosed with endometriosis and having cysts removed, I was advised to take contraceptive back to back to stop periods, and Prevent endo spreading again until I start ivf. Worked for a few months with no period except a little breakthrough. Now after 4 months I see blood just about every day. Although very light, I’m concerned this is going to aggravate my endo and cause problems when ivf starts.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Any advice would be really appreciated x

Hi there, please don’t panic. I have Endo and a history of cysts, and my clinic put me on the pill prior to IVF too. I can’t say it was a particularly pleasant experience. I was an emotional wreck, and bled throughout too, but they still got 16 eggs from my one ovary. The main reason they do it, is to regulate your cycle, so you don’t ovulate too early during IVF x
Aw thank you so much, you have made me feel so much better about the whole thing. That’s brilliant you got so many eggs! Fingers crossed for your journey lovely xxx
Hi. "GraceFace" has the right idea. I'm sure you will be OK when it comes to egg collection. Good luck! Diane
Are your periods normally painful and is this bleeding painless? If yes and very light then it is likely breakthrough bleeding which can happen when you are on the pill back to back- the hormones can have this effect even on people with no endo. If you have any bleeding after sex or it gets heavier, have a check up with you gynaecologist or GP. X
Thank you Zoe. Yes they are very light and painless. Was just worried the bleeding would spread the endo further or cause problems with ivf. Hoping not xx
