Hi all

So we have just had our appt with the consultant at the private clinic. Amh has came back at 6, previously 13 4 years ago. No surprise there after 2 ivf miscarriages followed by a diagnosis of Endo and cyst removal. They confirmed what I have been suggesting all along that although I respond well enough and had a 5AA transferred each time with no frozen it's my egg quality. Thank you someone who wants to listen, in fact he came out with it within the first few minutes. He has recommended 3 mi this of DHEA before trying again. Has anyone got any experience or success stories from this?

Thanks in advance for any replies or advice xx

It’s a multi cycle refund plan, don’t think I’m eligible but going to apply x

I'm not sure if I have success yet - will find out on Tuesday!! I started taking DHEA last October and had a cycle in January which failed. I then started taking the micronized version of DHEA along with Ubiquonol COQ10 and my response seems to be better according to the scans than they've ever been!! EC is on Tuesday so will find out for definite then. My AMH level was borderline - about 9.2 so Dr said I didn't really need to take it!

I'm not at the point that I would try anything! You do need to take it though for 3 months as it works best at the beginning of the egg growth - an egg takes about 100 days before it's ready to be collected. xx

Good luck for Tuesday!! I'm also taking DHEA and CoQ10 (self medicating!) and just wondered where you got yours from? Thanks xx

The coq10 I just got from Holland & Barrett. The DHEA I ordered online. Just make sure it's the micronized version - seems to work better!! x

Thanks for all the replies. Our friends are o holiday at the moment in the States so they have kindly agreed to bring it back for us, pharmacies sell it our the counter. I have take Coq10 also in the past so I will buy that again. At the stage we are willing to take any advice and try anything. It was the 1st thing our consultant suggested xx

The book 'it starts with the egg' suggests 3x25mg DHEA for people like me with diminished ovarian reserve. Also CoQ10 but cannot remember the dose... good luck! It's encouraging that your consultant actually recommended taking- mine always seems non-communal but the book shows lots of positive studies. All the very best xxx

I started out with DHEA on a consultant recommendation for low AMH at the beginning of our journey - 3 x 25mg of the micronized version from the US and also added Ubiquinol in Spring last year. Both take 3 months or so to kick in. I have quantity and quality issues. I am finally 10 weeks pregnant and praying that this time is the one. Good luck.xx

ISCI because my husband also has issues. This round I got pregnant with natural modified protocol, which we also turned to for quality reasons after 5 rounds of high dosage long protocol. Was such a nicer process for us after all we have been through and focuses on the egg that the body would naturally select. We have also lost 2 babies in our IVF journey.xx

I have a low AMH of 3.4 and was recommended by my clinic to take DHEA before I had my first round. We had only 3 eggs collected the first time, one made it to day 5 but no pregnancy. I continued taking DHEA and also started taking CoQ10 ubiquinol (after reading it starts with the egg which I would highly recommend) and on my second round of IVF we collected 7 eggs of which 5 made it to day 5! We had a “top grade” embryo put back and sadly that didn’t take but now have 4 in the freezer and having a FET with 2 embryos soon! Although I am yet to get pregnant I believe the DHEA and CoQ10 has helped me retrieve more eggs so worth a try I think. I bought both of these from BIOVEA. Best of luck with your journey to parent hood!!
