I had two failed cycles and since my second one I developed a severe infection which had me in hospital for 6 days. It’s now been some 23 days since EC yet I am still in pain.
I have endometriosis- not sure what stage but it’s like to be stage III or IV.
Since my infection - particularly the last two weeks, I have been in pain every day.
They have told me to manage it at home with pain killers, until I have my lap - which I am on a waiting list for.
Not sure how to manage pain, I have lost my work as a result - and are taking paracetamol around the clock with the occasional codeine.
I only felt pain due to my endometriosis initially and even then I wasn’t diagnosed for up to 1.5 years. Since my infection I feel everything. It feels absolutely awful. I cannot leave the house, I need heat on me constantly. I feel really debilitated and down right miserable.
I also had Zoladex upon discharge and not sure if this is helping endo or contributing to the pain.
Just feel miserable and awful.

Hi. I am also an endo sufferer and it can be unbelievably painful. I found co-codamol helped more than just paracetamol (I think the two work together better if taken at the same time).
I was put on Zoladex after an investigative laparoscopy and it made the pain much, much worse initially (for a few weeks) but after that it was brilliant and I managed to train for and run 2 marathons last year.
Stick with the Zoladex and it should ease - I’d say if it’s not better 4-6 weeks after the first implant then try to see your endo consultant.
Thanks Wayward, I am trying. I think I am at week 2 on Zoladex and I can feel every twinge and pain of my endo. The fertility clinic kept wondering why I couldn’t feel my endo and how I was going about a normal life. Well I can certainly feel it now!!! Awesome news about running a marathon. I want to get fit too, but once this pain stops. If it stops!!! Will read the rest of your posts for inspiration. I just feel in a bad place at the moment!
Just checking you are not taking co-codamol and paracetamol at the same time as there is also paracetamol in co-codamol So would be too high a dose all my sympathy with the pain though x
Hi Minchoo, I got severe endometriosis (stage 4). When the pain is bad the only thing that help is naproxen 500mg. After that I top it up with cocodamol. I don’t like taking naproxen a lot. I take it only once to put the inflammation under control and then try to control the pain with cocodamol. As cocodamol can cause constipation, I try to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. And then I take fybrogel. Otherwise if I get constipated, it just make my pain worst. I have been changing my diet, I’m trying the gluten free diet. I feel much better especially I feel less bloated. I hope you feel better soon. Take care.xxx
Yes thinking of going gluten free. But last time I tried that, my stomach ached - how odd! I don’t eat that much wheat. But will definitely bar it more now. Thanks will defo try the cocodamol combo with more fibre. It’s pretty much what I am taking. It does help but I don’t want to be reliant on drugs. Here’s hoping the Zoladex does what it needs and the pain stops! Thanks guys you always make me feel good. Glad to know I am not alone xx
Thank you, I have GP appointment and now I have a call from a fertility doctor and have a cancellation appointment. So will see what they say and if they can do anything about this constant pain.
