Hi all I thought I'd share what iv done so far with my appeal process I just hope it helps or gives hope to you. About 2 years ago I got refused IVF treatment on the NHS as my partner has a child from a previous relationship. I went to see my local MP and she is willing to help me, she is writing to my GP, hospital, local ccg and if that doesn't work she is taking it to parliament. Don't give up ladies #MakeIVFFair I hope this has help sending baby dust to you all xx

That's great! Good work. I have always thought this was unfair so well done for trying to make a change xx

Thank you for your reply, I won't give up and I don't see how the rules are fair! Infertility should be treated like any other illness. I will keep everyone updated on how I get on. xx

We had something similar as I have a child from a previous relationship and the criteria for ivf changed! At first we got refused and we thought that was it as we would never afford to pay ourselves!! Then the pa of my consultant rang me and told me the ccg that my doctors was in the criteria was different and we should be accepted! After a lot of phone calls and numerous letters we finally got accepted!!! Xxx

Keep going all the way!! I think it’s so unfair too and we were ready to give up as we thought we had no chance!!

You have probably done this already but check you ccg criteria!!

The one we’re in gives 2 goes on the nhs but there trying now to change it to one!! Luckily we got ours accepted in time!

Good luck to you too! And thank you, sadly our first go ended in a chemical pregnancy but we’re not giving up and back to the hospital on Monday to talk about our next transfer as we have one frozen xxx

I'm sorry to hear that your first cycle didn't work out for you don't give up your dream I'm sure it will happen for you! And iv checked the ccg website iv even emailed them but I got a reply stating that I wouldn't be accepted for NHS IVF as my partner as a child from a previous relationship. I hoping that my local MP will be able to help me appeal against there desicion. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement tbh I'm glad there is a forum for us to help each other get through times like this I find it hard talking to family and friends about my infertility so just glad there is people out there I can talk to as it does get me down and depressed. Sending baby dust your way and good luck for Monday I hope it works out for you if you don't mind me asking where about are you recieving treatment as I'm in the west midland and iv not even been offered one cycle xx

I am in the same position. My husband has children. I find it so upsetting that we aren’t eligible for funding but also in the eyes off the law the mother holds all the cards concerning the children. How can that be right or fair.

I admire you fighting. Wish we could but unfortunately time is against us as we’re are now both in our 40s. I was 35 when we started our journey. I would love to know how it goes.

Wish you the best of luck.x

We are currently doing egg donation having to self fund. Can only afford 1 go. So no pressure!!!!! Fingers crossed 🤞

Thank you for your reply you should try and fight for your treatment I know that time is against you but it is also against me I have low egg reserve which iv been told I can go through menopause early unfortunately that's why I can't do egg sharing. Don't give up your fight go and see your local MP I'm sure they can help you like they are helping me. Good luck with your ivf journey my fingers are crossed for you I'll defo keep you all updated. I know the MP from Birmingham is fighting for equal rights for everyone he is taking it to parliament tomorrow. Sending baby dust your way xx
