Hi ladies, just wondering how long it took for your stitches to fully dissolve after lap?

Yes really annoying. You can go to your practice nurse for them to be taken out I didn't bother. I think the one that took it's sweet time actually fell off although not 100% on that xx

Mine took ages too and one didn’t dissolve at all the lower one as well! I ended up taking a pair of tweezers too it.

I had mine removed by a nurse at the doctors practice 2 weeks post op. Sometimes they don’t always dissolve so easily. The nurses won’t mind. I hope recovery is going well xoxo

Hi had mine removed two weeks later xx

Mine didn’t, my mum (a nurse) took them out for me. But she did say that they weren’t dissolving because I was not getting them wet, so don’t protect them too much in the shower. Once they’re out, I really recommend biooil for the scars. I used it twice daily for six months and it made a big difference.

Mine got removed from the nurse 1 week after my op, my surgeon suggested they get removed as they can take so long to dissolve.

Mine weren't dissolvable and had to have them removed by the treatment room nurse I think a week post surgery. Dissolvable stitches should come out themselves but if they don't or if any hurt you go to your gp practice! Hope you are recovering well from op. Take care.xo
