I had a lap and dye last year it's nothing to worry about it's really straight forward and you should be home within the day. Best to take some baggy clothes to wear as you'll be quite bloated afterwards and a pillow or cushion for in the car on the way home to protect your stomach from the seat belt. Buy some peppermint tea as it'll help get rid of the gas! Best of luck x

You'll be fine hun. I had mine in Feb its really not that, bad. I was a bit sick after from anaesthetic and because of being the last one in and the fact I ovulated straight after I was in agony they kept me in for the night. Apart from that like shanks-21 said peppermint tea pillow for drive home rest and don't over do yourself. You'll be fine. Any questions just ask. Wish you all the best for Thursday 💗🤗😘

Thanks ladies! I don't really know how much time i'll need off work, and worried about doing too much too soon i know i shouldn't worry about that right now, but i can be my own worst enemy sometimes. Xx

My biggest tip is get the food shopping done and meals in the freezer. I tried to go supermarket shopping too soon and ended up having to sit down for a rest at the tills like an old woman! Mostly I sat down for about ten days then took it easy back at work after that.

I'd say 2 weeks to be on safe side. 💗🤗😘

Thanks! I'm actually on holiday from work next week, i already had it booked before i got my op date, so work isn't an issue for the week after, just worried about going back to soon, i have a physical job and i'm on my feet all day! Xxx

Hey allweneedisluv! I'm due to have a lap test in the next 2 months hopefully. I hadn't realised there was such a long recovery time? Do you think it's essential to be off for 2 weeks? Getting all that time off is a head ache I could do without😓

I'm just speaking from experience my body heals quite rubbish too. I suppose it depends how you heal and what your job is. Plus how you feel is the major one. I think 2 weeks to be safe but if your period is near and they are usually bad then bare that in mind too 💗🤗😘

Thanks for the heads up🖒 I'm not exactly hardy😄 I work as an infants teachers so it's probably not the best combo, hopefully when I meet the doctor prior they will go over the recovery and will sign me ofc if needed.

If your in that environment you defo would want vto be careful iv got 1 to look after. It's better to be over cautious I think at least if u feel better you can go back early 💗🤗😘

I'm an infant teacher too and I went back after 11 days. I couldn't have gone back sooner - the thought of a child's head bumping the incisions before they were healed... bleurgh! You know how little ones love to come up and hug you, especially when you've been off poorly. I was knackered too.

You did well to be back at work after 11 days. 💗🤗😘

I'd been given the impression (wrongly) that I shouldn't need any time off (I only work three days a week) other than the five days I would have been off anyway, so I sort of felt I had to go back after one extra week. I agree with everyone on here who says 2 weeks at least.

Hopefully you don't have to go through surgery again but if you do take what you need off and don't let anyone make you feel like your not worthy of it. End of the day we need our health xx

I just had no concept, having never had surgery before, and the nurses made me feel like it would be a walk in the park. Which it was not. In fact, walking was hard!! 😂

Thank you for your support! I'll not be so naive another time!

I don't know why people say it's so easy and nothing. Just because it's less invasive really doesn't mean their still not fiddling about v with our insides. It might look like nothing on the outside but there's a hell of s lot going on inside

The first day I found it hard cto even get off the hospital bed didn't help the nurses left me so high up and I didn't realise but it is hard and we all need to heal and make sure we do without our health we're no good to anyone. The sooner people realise that and support us In times of need the better. 💗🤗😘

Just rest get everything that needs doing now. Prepare some meals ∧ freeze them. Then just relax at home don't do nothing until you feel you can dont push it though. Just walk around the home it will help with the gas. You'll know when you feel up to anything else 💗🤗😘

My period came a couple of days after my lap and wasn't worse than normal, but I was constipated more than usual (sorry tmi)... so maybe you might want to buy some prunes or fybogel if you get a little constipated round af time!!!!

Hey, the lap with fine, just give your self plenty of time to recover. I went back to work after week and a half and it was too soon.

I had my lap and dye 2 weeks ago. I'm still a bit sore now so would say you need at least 2 weeks to recover. I would also recommend peppermint tea to relieve trap wind. The anaesthetic and pain killers can also cause constipation so it might be worth getting some laxatives. I hope it goes well for you x
