Had my pre op yesterday and within 4 hours of having it i got a phone call with my operation date, which is 3 weeks today, 28th September.
I got given a leaflet at my pre op of things to take in with me but was just wondering if anybody else has any good suggestions of things i may need that arent on the list, also how long have other people been off work for?
Thanks in advance ladies!!!x

I didn't really use anything in hospital but dressing gown, slippers, very loose and comfy clothes to come home in. Take a pillow with you for the journey back then take it very easy at home. Get heat packs and windeeze tablets too. I had 2weeks off work and definitely needed them. Good luck! x
Yes you get changed when on the unit. Good luck hun I was last so ended up staying in just be prepared if you end up staying in shouldn't be more than one night if you do 😘
Yea, you will get changed into a hospital gown and about 30 people it feels like will come along and check you are the right person, what they are doing and your blood pressure. They got me to do a urine sample too when I got there so don't go for a wee just before. Try not to worry too much about it, uncomfortable after but painkillers and heat packs will have you sorted. I think the worst part after was the stiff back because of not moving around much. x
Yup, I used colpermin to alleviate the wind pain. I ended up having just under 3 months off but there was quite a lot of endo removed and a few other issues, plus I have quite a demanding job. Good luck xx
Currently in bed recovering from lap and dye on Tuesday! I was luckily first in so would have been home by lunchtime if I didn't have a reaction to the anaesthetic (sick) but 2 weeks previous I was due in, last on the list and it got cancelled last minute! To be honest the day at the hospital went by in a blur, I haven't had full results yet as will go back in for consultation but had endometriosis removed I believe, quite uncomfortable so make sure you've got someone at home looking after you ☺️ just needed slippers at the hospital and dressing gown, I was put to sleep in a anaesthetic room and woke up in recovery so didn't even see the theatre. Just take it easy afterwards, I'd only booked 2 days off but the nurses recommended 1-2 weeks! I can see me needing the 1 week at least... good luck sweets, let us know how it goes and if you've any questions feel free to msg me !
Honestly I'm feeling very sore and uncomfortable. I've got to wait for a letter with a clinic appointment to go over results so quite anxious but each day gets a little less sore... I just keep reminding myself that hopefully we'll have our family soon (and making the most of not being allowed to lift the kettle so lots of cups of tea from my other half!) x
The nurse had a quick run through, she said that there was endo (which is what I was expecting after trying to get the diagnosis for 8 years!) and that my tubes weren't fully blocked but the flush out has helped... there were other notes there but she couldn't quite read them so I've got to wait for my follow up appt. in a few weeks for full diagnosis. Also my partners just done his 3rd sample so I imagine we'll get those results then too... How about you? Do you except a diagnosis from your lap?? X
I had a hydrosalpinx in my left tube witch has "disapeared" so there checking both my tubes, if my left one has to come out, it will come out, but if its damaged but can be repaired it will be, there also looking at my ovaries as i have pcos and looking for any signs of endo as i've been saying for years i have it, but have been fobbed off since the age of 16 with ibs.....funny how the pill stopped all my pain and problems and as soon as i came off it to concieve it all started again!! Luckily i finally have a gynae who is really good and willing to help! X
When I had it I was in and out pretty quickly. However I found it took a while to completely recover. I only took a week off work and I think this is why. Def take two if possible. Good luck.xx
Phone charger! I forgot mine then panicked when it looked like I was going to be in longer as I was listening to music on it through my headphones plus using it to stay in touch with family and find out visiting hours for my ward (easier than trying to get hold of a member of staff to ask tbh).
